Evo da i ja potvrdim, P35 _podržava_ PCI-E 2.0

Ne, PCI-E 2.0 kartice neće raditi nešto brže na 2.0, odnosno sporije na 1.1 sabirnici, s druge strane, neke kartice će znati raditi probleme na 1.0.

Many people are afraid of compatibility graphics PCI-E 2.0 port with old motherboards equipped with PCI-E 1.1 and 1.0 ports. And they are also worried about performance of new card in old port.
According to SIG DOCUMENTATION , PCI-Express 2.0 will be compatible with 1.1 and 1.0a. But in practice, 8800GT not always works with 1.0. For example, ASUS had some problems.

Major different between PCi-E 1.1 and 2.0 is possibility providing twice more power (150W) and 2x more bits for every line. So it doubles bandwidth rate 2.5GBit/s to 5GBit/s. Newer interface also offer dinamic control of pci-e clock (in 1.1 it`s always 2.5GHz).
Chipsets, which support PCI-Express 2.0 are: Intel P35, X38 oraz AMD 790FX. But it`s not enough, because on motherboard must be also appropriate port and chip.
Anyway, 8800GT works correctly with: P965, P35, i975X i nForce 680i.

Decrease of card performance in tandem with PCI-E 1.1 in comparison with 2.0 should be marginal. Like, when introduced AGP 8x after AGP 4x. It was in the margin of measurnment mistake.
