WHEN INSTALLING THE PREMIUM GRAPHICS PATCH THE INSTALLER WIPES YOUR BOOT.INI FILE. DO NOT REBOOT IT WILL CAUSES ISSUES.
THIS FIX IS ONLY FOR SYSTEMS WITH 1 SINGLE HARD DRIVE(Okay not really, but for the sake of simplicity only use it if you have one disk)
1: Make sure you have actually lost your boot.ini file. Goto your start menu and goto run, and type in "msconfig"(no quotes). This will bring up a utility called Windows configuration utility. There will be several tabs, if there is not one called boot.ini, you have an issue.
2:If you are missing this file, open notepad. Now if you have windows xp HOME copy everything below

save the file as "C:\boot.ini" (no quotes). There is an option below the file_name box called, save as type. Change the type to all files. Save repeat step 1. If you see a tab called boot.ini You should have a functional computer again. If its still not there... well time to call microsoft or break out the xp disks.
You also need to set the parameters for the file.
1. Go to Start
2. Click Run...
3. Type "attrib +S +H +R C:\boot.ini" (without the quotes) into the run field.
4. Click OK
