"The icon seems to appear when you have e-mail and chat enabled in the Programs and Paths screen of Preferences. When I turned off e-mail and closed and reopened Opera the icon was not there. Enabling e-mail and closing and reopening put the icon back."

Ako ne pali, desni klik na prazno mjesto u trayu (recimo skroz desno, iza sata) -> Properties -> kvacica na "Hide inactive icons" (skroz dolje) -> klik na Customize -> nadji Operu i stavi "always hide"
