Intel is reportedly facing a massive ‘talent drain’ following CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s decisions to cancel key projects. Well, it seems that Intel is seeing experts and highly experienced individuals depart from the company, as the company's pursuit of profitability is apparently shrinking its talent pool. Intel's key goal right now is to boost shareholder value, which means that the firm needs to drop projects that are consuming resources and haven't brought in viable returns. CEO Tan said that there was no more room for 'blank checks,' which has apparently resulted in several projects and investments being canceled.

Apart from this, Intel's key engineers are now shifting to competitors like Samsung since such firms are more focused on semiconductor ambitions amid their rapid shift towards producing in the US. Intel is in talks with other large investors to receive an equity infusion at a discounted price, the chipmaker is now looking beyond SoftBank for an equity boost. Intel is seeking more external funding as it works to recover from several years of declining sales and reduced market share.
