nVidia addresses DisplayPort black screen issues with new driver hotfix
Citiraj:
Earlier this week, nVidia launched a new GPU driver that fixed three known problems causing black screens, it seems that not all of them. nVidia has identified another black screen bug, this time related to the DisplayPort connection. If your GeForce card experienced black screens, especially right after installing the latest display drivers, then this hotfix might be a solution for you. It focuses on this specific issue after drivers were installed and PCs were rebooted, only to show a black screen. Apparently, this has something to do with the DisplayPort connection.
If you’re not experiencing such problems, or you’re not using DisplayPort for a monitor, then there’s most likely no reason to install this hotfix, which is based on the latest 572.60 Game Ready release. The hotfix only addresses this single problem, and judging from the comments on the nVidia Subreddit, this issue was quite common. nVidia has had several problems with the drivers recently, mostly related to the launch of the RTX 50 series and multiple drivers that were released alongside each launch. Some users say that the quality of nVidia drivers has dropped, and they were not experiencing such issues before.
