Retailer confirms PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil Limited Edition is in stock, talks AMD pricing strategy
Citiraj:
Large retailer in Bulgaria (Gplay) has an interesting video on Radeon GPUs. The video uses our article as a background, an article about AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 launch date based on the company’s announcements. The retailer is clearly not trying to break any embargoes, and carefully avoids directly stating what they were told or what they can reveal. However, it is apparent that they were informed that late January was the intended timeframe for the cards they already have to go on sale. More interestingly, the retailer indirectly confirms that the cards were priced higher than expected and even provides an estimated price for these cards.

It is revealed that, at least initially, AMD intended to price the RX 9070 XT closer to the RX 7900 XT rather than the RX 7800 XT. It is also worth noting that the retailer refers to the RX 9070 launch date as delayed, although AMD has not officially communicated any earlier launch dates. Based on the information we received and translated, these cards were initially planned to sell at around $899 for the RX 9070 XT and $749 for the RX 9070 non-XT, with a launch date of January 23. So it looks like AMD pricing was indeed on a higher end and there is indeed stock of RX 9070 in Bulgaria, even of a special edition from PowerColor which is typically distributed among media for reviews.
