Scumbag Intel: Shady Practices, Terrible Responses, & Failure to Act EDIT:

In addition to his role at Puget Systems, Jon also represents the company on the Intel Board of Advisors, which helps Intel see the real-world application of their products, and how to better serve their users. We aren’t including AMD here to try to deflect from the issues Intel is currently experiencing but rather to put into context why we have not yet adjusted our Intel vs. AMD strategy in our workstations.

U nastavku je sasvim slučajan tijek događaja ... Primjera radi, Core i9-13900K je prema Puget Systems postavkama zapravo bliže Core i7-13700K po pitanju performansi, jer iGPU kroz Quick Sync ionako odrađuje većinu posla za partnerske Adobe alate.
Citiraj:
In most of the workloads we tested, having MultiCore Enhancement (MCE) enabled and the P1/P2 power limits unlocked didn't have much of an impact on either performance or CPU temperatures. The few times where it did cause an impact were highly threaded, CPU heavy, tasks like CineBench and V-Ray CPU rendering, and building lighting in Unreal Engine. In these cases, disabling MCE and locking the P1/P2 power limits to match Intel's official specifications for the Core i9 13900K resulted in around a 10-20% drop in performance. In exchange, however, the CPU temperature dropped by a massive 30-40C. In other words, you can get a significant increase in performance (about the same as going one "model" up in Intel's product line) with these settings in their default configuration, but you pay for it with much higher power draw and CPU temperatures.

Citiraj:
Our testing has found that most content creation applications are not that sensitive to increases in power limits. Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro saw no real improvement, while After Effects and DaVinci Resolve saw only marginal ones; the differences were right at the margin of error for this kind of real-world testing. These are the applications that are most likely to end up with a CPU like the Intel 14900K, as they are the applications that it tends to excel in compared to other options. Currently, at Puget Systems, we’ve found that the balance of the factors is such that our computers make more sense targeting the 125W power limit than the 253W. Most of the workstations we sell with an Intel i9 CPU are for applications like Premiere Pro or Photoshop, which will not realize any benefit from the higher power limits but would see higher power draw, thermals, and noise.
