Morat cu baciti oko na taj Q50 steer-by-wire ali "mechanical backup system" mi zvuci da i dalje letva volana moze direktno skretati kotace bez supporta.

The system is controlled by three separate ECUs and “they watch each other.” If there’s a discrepancy between any one of the computers the vehicle goes into back-up mode. Direct link from the steering wheel to the steering rack does in fact exist, but under normal situations it’s disconnected by a clutch; this is what enables the electronically controlled steering. When there’s a problem that clutch engages giving the driver direct, physical steering like any other vehicle on the road. In normal driving situations, this clutch is disengaged, but if one of the three control modules detects a fault, the clutch snaps shut and the steering acts as a conventional, electrically assisted rack-and-pinion system. The clutch also engages when the engine shuts off, so if one of the first SBW-equipped cars fails to start, the owner can still steer the car while pushing it.
