Google Chrome extensions update could be the end of ad-blockers as we know it
tl;dr: Google's V3 manifesto will be launched on January 1, 2023, V2 will then be shut down. This poses massive problems for Adblock developers, because V3 no longer has or allows the range of functions by far to offer what the extensions have offered so far. Theoretically, an update of the extensions from V2 to V3 is possible, but then it is questionable how much will still work at all.
In the article, the uOrigin developer has already complained that he can then practically throw his extension in the bin.
Bye Chrome.
