AMD rumored to launch Ryzen 5 5500/5600 and Ryzen 7 5700X this month

AMD is expected to launch another two 6-core Ryzen 5000 SKUs: Ryzen 5 5500 and Ryzen 5 5600. While the clock speeds of both parts remain unknown, there is a major difference between both parts: the 5500 does not support SMT and therefore only has 6 threads. The 5500 is set to cost less than Intel’s Core i3-12100 CPU, which officially goes for 122 USD. The 5600 non-X on the other hand would cost less than i5-12400 with 192 USD price tag. AMD is also preparing an 8-core and 16-thread CPU known as Ryzen 7 5700X, this CPU would cost less than Core i5-12600KF (MSRP of 264 USD). It would therefore be offered alongside Ryzen 7 5700G based on Cezanne silicon but with more capable Radeon Vega graphics subsystem, but fewer PCIe lanes and smaller L3 Cache. Later this month the company will also launch Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 96MB of total L3 Cache. This push of Zen 3 architecture for desktop AM4 socket appears to be the last major update for the socket before AMD switches to AM5 and Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 “Raphael” architecture.
