AMD Rembrandt 6nm Zen 3+ APU + RDNA 2 iGPU

In total, AMD will present 24 different models of the Ryzen 6000 series. So far the best known is the top models Ryzen 9 6980HX, Ryzen 9 6900HX and Ryzen 7 6800H. The new APUs will be manufactured in 6 nm. According to size is Patrick Schur, the die 12.82 mm × 16.25 mm ≈ 208.33 mm². Cezanne is manufactured in 7 nm on 156 mm². The new chip is therefore significantly larger than its predecessor, despite the nominally smaller production, which is certainly also due to the significantly larger iGPU. The AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX, Ryzen 9 6900HX and Ryzen 7 6800H are going to offer 8 cores and 16 threads. These cores are based on the new Zen 3+ architecture which is an enhanced version of the Zen 3 core but with the latest TSMC 6nm alternation.

Block diagram shows the platform functions of the Rembrandt APUs. The presence of six workgroup processors (WGP) confirms the maximum 12 CUs of the integrated graphics unit. Four 32-bit wide memory controllers integrate DDR5 in dual-channel operation. In addition to DDR5, the memory controller should also be able to address LPDDR5X. Discrete graphics card is connected via eight PCIe 4.0 lanes. AMD Rembrandt means that its iGPU outpaces the nVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. For some other comparisons, it is interesting to see AMD’s latest and greatest APU outpace the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G (Cezanne APU with Vega graphics) by around 80 per cent in TimeSpy. AMD Rembrandt is nearly 3x as fast as the iGPU in the Intel Core i9-12900K in this 3DMark test.
