EDIT:

"We want to aggressively compete in all segments. As we have gone through the supply issue kind of in the last six to 12 months on the PC side, we had to walk away from some low-end mobile share as well as some channel desktop share. But as we continue to improve our supply situation, we’ll continue to get more aggressive there," said Jason L, Grebe, corporate vice president and general manager of cloud platforms and technology at Intel.

AMD, whose share of the datacenter server processor market had (pre-COVID-19) been expected by some to reach 10 percent by the end of this year, has already broken Intel’s stranglehold on the cloud industry.

Intel Outside … Just Like all the Others
Citiraj:
Intel Corp. did not make a formal announcement but industry observers believe the company will within the next 5 to 10 years terminate the development of next-generation semiconductor process technology, stop building new wafer fabs and, like many of its rivals, depend solely on dedicated foundries for these critical services. Intel is merely accepting the inevitable conclusion that it cannot continue to justify the expenses involved in its technology process development and manufacturing fab maintenance.
