Game of Thrones show creators and Emmy winners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have departed their planned trilogy of Star Wars films earmarked for release in 2022, 2024 and 2026. HBO has ultimately decided not to move forward with showrunner Jane Goldman’s Game of Thrones big-budget spinoff series which was supposed to be led by Naomi Watts. Word is that the pilot had a troubled production while shooting in Northern Ireland. A second prequel pilot was given the greenlight by HBO last month, from Martin and Ryan Condal, which tracks the fall of House Targaryen 300 years before Game of Thrones.
