N26:
Pros:
-the card is a standard mastercard debit. Not a 'prepaid'
-bank transfers are completely instant
-fully insured and licensed in the eu
-Airport lounges are Ł15 each on the the metal tier.
Cons:
-can only have 1 card
-not many extra features
-spending money abroad is free, and done at the interbank exchange rate, but you can't actually open a second account in a different currency. So you can't have a gbp and a usd account for example. But you can spend usd and it will take the gbp value from your gbp account with no fees which is good.
Revolut:
Pros:
-lots of extra features. Disposable cards, virtual cards, buy cryptocurrencies etc (even though you can't actually send/recieve the crypto currency so it's not that useful)
-can open multiple accounts in other currencies
-have people pay you just by sending them a link. (love this feature)
Cons:
-has recieved a Lithuanian banking license, but is not actually running as a bank yet. It is still legally an e-money institution and your money is not insured if revolut goes bust. Whereas n26 would be.
-the card is a mastercard 'prepaid', not a debit card. This usually isn't an issue but SOME retailers don't accept prepaid
-bank transfers usually take a couple hours (this was the main reason I got n26. Instant transfers are a must for me)
