You have to have some ETH in your private wallet (such as MetaMask, Jaxx, MyEtherWallet, Ledger Nano, etc.). Each ETH holder will receive free ETCV after the fork (planned for January 11, 2019, 20:00 GMT) at a 1:3 ratio. For instance, if you have 100 ETH in your digital wallet, you will receive 300 ETCV after the fork.
