it makes a lot of difference for anybody shooting video under artificial light. If the scene is lit with 60Hz lighting and shot on 50Hz cameras there will be a very distracting 10Hz flicker, unless very slow shutter speeds are used (<1/10 sec) which is OK if you want a blurred 'drunk's view' as part of the action
