Just last year, Intel announced plans to eliminate 5 percent of its workforce - roughly 5,400 jobs worldwide. The company reduced its employee base by 20 percent between 2005 and 2009 as part of a broad, extended reorganization.

Intel's restructuring will be accompanied by the biggest single round of job cuts in its history. It announced Tuesday plans to eliminate 12,000 jobs, 11 percent of its total work force, as it recalibrates following another quarter of disappointing PC sales.

Još tu ima nekih reportaža po par stotina, tisuću-dvije, no ne znam dali je to uključeno u ove ture od 5400 ili 12000 ili zasebna otpuštanja. Tako da im nije baš neka bajna situacija, dok je amd s druge strane u momentumu
