Ne treba korisniku kodeka, samo dobar player (MPC-HC) stvoren za HEVC reprodukciju.
CPU opterećenje ovisi naravno i o tome kako je video zakodiran tj. o Framerateu (24, 30, 50, 60 FPS), Bitrateu (1 - 100+ Mbps), Bit depthu (8 ili 10 bit), te npr. Chroma subsamplingu (4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0 ...).
Trenutno je pravi mali divlji zapad po pitanju HEVC-a i pravila kodiranja
