Citiraj:
"Non-Z" overclocking with the G3258 has taken a serious hit with a recent Windows Update (for Win 7 & 8) and the RTM build of Windows 10. Microsoft released a patch that updated the microcode for the G3258, which results in a boot-loop for users of most H-series and B-series motherboards that used to support overclocking the chip.

As a result, mobo makers have released new BIOSes that correct the problem, but they also disable overclocking on the G3258. I suspect that you're using an updated BIOS that no longer supports OCing because of the microcode patch.

You can remove the update on Win7/8 or use a hack to work around the patch. I'm not sure if there's a workaround for Win 10 or not.

This is really a BS move by Intel. Many of us bought G3258 systems based on the value proposition of overclocking the chip on a cheap board to achieve i3-like performance at a lower price. If you have to buy a pricey Z-series board to overclock, what's the point of getting a G3258 when you can get a cheap board + an i3 for the same price?
