I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had concerns in relation to your username and whether or not you need to start using your full name on YouTube.

It's important to know that if you don’t want to use your full name on YouTube, you don’t have to. Just click “I don’t want to use my full name” when you see the prompt.

For background and to provide a little context, YouTube introduced the option to change how your appear on YouTube last year. You can choose to use your full name on your YouTube Channel. One Google-wide identity was something that proved popular with new YouTube users, and so YouTube made the choice available to to all YouTube users.

That said, this is your online identity, and it's important that you control how you appear online. If you don’t want to use your full name, you don’t have to.
