Floppy emulators are currently divided in two families:
[A] chinese emulators QHSFD+RICHPEACE
- mass production (sold at less than 30$)
- minimal hardware & reliability
- minimal floppy emulation & support
These are usually buyed from hobby people, and
installed on cheap devices like keyboards, PC...
As mass spare products you have to configure
the emulator by yourself. If you're lucky maybe
somebody did already manage to get them work
on your device!
[B] european emulators EMUFDD+DATEX
- limited production (sold at more than 200$)
- extended hardware & reliability
- extended floppy emulation & support
These are usually buyed from industry people,
and installed on worthy legacy industrial machinery
(more than 10.000$ value)
These are usually freely preconfigured by the
manufacturer and immediately replace the old floppy.
