Muse Mini DAC with 4 paralleled TDA1543 (formerly Marantz choice of op-amps), can be used the same as other DACs but also has a low enough output impedance to facilitate use with un-buffered passive preamps/attenuators without the usual big drop in bass and dynamics. The Muse Mini TDA1543x4 DAC is one of Muse's compact DACs that offers much more depth of detail and removed much of the haze in the highs in direct comparison to some players that are well liked by people including the Sony SCPH Playstation and Marantz CD65II SE (uses single TDA1541). A friend of mine has the single chip version which was also good enough that it replaced the stock DAC output of his Meridian 586.

The DAC converts a signal from your either toslink optical digital or digital coaxial from your transport. Unit draws just over 3 Watts in actual musical operation.
