German etailer that goes by the name Alteco claims that it can start shipping MSI Radeon HD 5850 this week. It is the MSI R5850-PM2D1G, 1024MB, PCI-Express with 725MHz core clock, 1000x4 MHz GDDR5 memory clock with1440 shader units.

The card also has a display port, HDMI and two DVI outs. You can look at the 5850 as a slightly slower and crippled version of 5870, but looks-wise it's pretty much identical.

here but we have to warn you that it very well might happen that they don't ship the card on September 30th. The main reason for such a claim is that not even press has the green light to publish the reviews of HD 5850 cards, and most partners don’t have any samples or quantities of the HD 5850 to sell.
We believe that this is the best buy card, and with the price close to €199 it might be the real deal. If not, give it some time and the price will surely drop to these figures.
Can't get enough
Sources close to ATI claim that sales of Radeon HD 5870 are absolutely great. They are selling a lot of them and no one can keep any stock of the card. The cards apparently sell out as soon as they are in and partners confirmed this claim.
More cards will get to the channel this week, but at the same time, etailers and retailers have to fight with many back-orders and its unlikely that the situation will get better anytime soon.
In the first week or October a better volume should hit the US and Europe but with such a strong demand, we doubt that they will sit long on the shelves. If you spend some time on the price comparison sites, you might end up getting one today or in few days as a pre-order product, but you will have to expect to spend an average of €350 if not even more.
The good news for the red team is that the demand is there.
