AMD RD890 i RS880 čipseti početkom 2010. godine
AMD is scheduled to launch its 8 series chipsets, RD890 to replace the RD790 (790FX) and RS880D, in January 2010, with EVT (engineering verification test) and DVT (design verification test) silicon scheduled for June and July and mass production to begin in November 2009. The RD890 will be matched with AMD's quad-core AM3-based processors targeting the high-end market, and supporting DDR3 memory and HyperTransport 3.0, while the RS880D integrates a RV620 GPU to supports DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1.
AMD also plans to announce the 785G chipset in September. The chip is currently under DVT and will enter mass production in August. AMD will launch SB800 series southbridges to pair with 8 series chipsets. The SB850 has already entered EVT and will be ready for January next year, while the SB810 will enter EVT in July and will show up in May next year. Currently, AMD is using the combination of 770 chipset and entry-level AM2+ CPUs to cover the entry-level market and is letting its 790FX chipset serve the high-end market. Izvor: DigiTimes
