The HDMI connector does not support PC timing. If you connect a PC using the HDMI connector on the TV, the PC may not function properly

This a brief summary of which brands of HDTV that are known to be suitable for HTPC usage via VGA or DVI/HDMI. For details on the below claims see the page for each brand.
Most recent HDTV's produced by LG support this feature, this has been alluded to in many forums on the net and the swedish LG Support verifies this claim.
TV's by Samsung are reported to support this features on VGA only . This can cause problems in the future with HD-DVD/Bluray playback requiring HDCP which is only available via DVI and HDMI.
Amoi produces some 1080p LCD TVs which are rumored to support 1:1 pixel mapping at 1920x1080.
In the US, Westinghouse produces a series of 1080p LCD's that also support 1:1 pixel mapping. Unfortunately they are not available in Europe. Note however that if you only require the TV for as (HT)PC display then you can 'safely' import such a display, the only hassle being the need for a power adapter. Of course if there is a problem with the TV, it might cause alot of grief that its bought from the US :)
The X and W series from Sony support 1:1 over HDMI. There are currently rumours that the W series also supports 1:1 over VGA, but this has yet to be confirmed.

How do i get 1:1 pixel mapping on my 1366x768 TV?
You basicly have 3 options, you can output 1360x768, 1366x768 or 1368x768. If properly pixel mapped the first will result in 3 pixels underscan on each side of the panel, while the last will result in 1 pixel overscan on each side. Your best bet is to try all of these resolutions(starting with 1366x768 naturally) at 50Hz, 60Hz and 75Hz.
