Nvidia Quadro/RTX series
 
Samo kratak info, prije izvjesnog vremena ubacio sam dva fantasticna nVidia produkta, low-end Quadroice bazirane na Pascalu, P400 (najslabija) verzija, puta dva. Cijenom su mi bile i vise nego pogodne, ne trose skoro nista, i ne cuju se kada ne treba. 3x mini DP, gutaju i DP, i DVI (pa samim time i HDMI), i VGA.

Nvidia Quadro/RTX series
 
Jucer pitam u generalnoj temi za mini DP adaptere na DVI/VGA koje trebam NVS i Quadro, jer nisam mogao naci kutiju, pa malocas sam sebi odgovaram u istoj.

Te me iznenadi da ime Quadro proizvoda nestade iz oznacavanje Pro Nvidia kartica. Sve isto samo bezlicne oznake.

Znam, nije ispod cekica, ali nisam uopce znao do danas, te je bas bezveze potez.

Zaboravljaš:
- naravno da je lakše za proizvodnju kada je razlika samo pozicija otpornika i eventualno drugi bios
- po defaultu su profi Quadro kartice x puta skuplje

Jesu skuplje, ali koja korist kad im je pala prodaja. Ne gledaš samo trošak proizvodnje u cijeloj priči, gledaš konačnu zaradu.

EDIT= Da nadopunim: Što Nvidia radi s neprodanim Quadro karticama? Snizi cijenu ako je u pitanju starija generacija? Transportira natrag u tvornicu da ih preprave u klasične gamerske kartice i prepakiraju u drugu ambalažu? Koliki je gubitak novca u svemu tome?

Ni meni nije ni najmanje cudno da su ih maknuli. Jos jedan razlog je sto je lakse zamagljivati brojeve na investor callovima, bez da netko analizira podjele izmedju mininga, gaminga, AI-ja i slicnog.

Nije Quadro umirovljena kao linija proizvoda, vec je samo naziv Quadro maknut kao (do sada) prepoznatljivi naziv. Identicne kartice su samo izgubile ima Quadro u oznacavanju. No, ako se pogleda u ponude po webu, pa cak i (pojedinih) nasih trgovcaca i dalje se koriste naziv Quadro kao kategorija. Navika je razumljiva. U drugi dio o pretvorbi necu, jer cemo otici u tri nove teme.

Velim, datumski me mimoisla promjena pa sam pozelio komentirat.

Kolega Visage, jesam li išta drugo napisao u svom postu? Nvidia je maknula Quadro kao brand jer više nije imao smisla, nije se Nvidia mogla natjecati sama sa sobom u tom CAD/CAM/3D dijelu kad je ionako RTX serija već i po prodaji zamijenila Quadro još dok je bio prisutan na tržištu pri pojavi prve RTX serije grafičkih kartica, ne samo poslovnih nego i gamerskih. U detaljnu razliku u hardveru između gamerskih i poslovnih kartica neću ulaziti jer svi ionako gledaju samo omjer cijena/performanse. Onome kome treba specijalizirana grafička kartica za jednu ili dvije poslovne aplikacije koje koristi platit će ih i pet puta više ako ima veće performanse, odnosno brže obavi posao i neće gledati ima li Quadro, gamersku RTX karticu ili poslovnu RTX karticu. Hoće li biti grafička s 12 Gb memorije ili 48 Gb memorije, znači li to ikome išta? Mislim da ne jer ionako u konačnici gledaš performanse. U istom cjenovnom rangu koji ti je dostupan uzet ćeš onu grafičku karticu koja ima bolje performanse za tvoje potrebe, zar ne?

Quadro kartice imaju optimizirane drajvere za CAD/CAM/3D pa čak i 2D aplikacije koji omogućuju višestruko brži rad u pojedinim dijelovima (ne svim) izvođenja programa nego klasične grafičke kartice. To se pogotovo odnosi na pomicanje slike (pan) i skrolanje, zumiranje, rotaciju itd. gdje je bitna brzina ponovnog iscrtavanja ekrana jer Quadro kartice znaju to izvesti višestruko brže nego njihov generacijski pandan među klasičnim grafičkim karticama. Obrati pažnju da nisam isticao razliku u hardveru, to je siva zona za koju ćeš naći različite informacije jer službene nisu dostupne i Nvidija ih skriva ko zmija noge.

Za autocad imas brdo pluginova koji iz pointclud-a rade as-built solid modele. Ja sam prije dobivao takve modele i high end gtx kartice (tipa 1080ti) kakvu sam ja koristio su se gusile u takvim .dwg-ovima, makar su imali svega par mb. S druge strane, ta ista kartica je bila sposobna vrtiti point cloud od stotina milijuna tocaka.

Baci oko na tekst, pa onda kontroverzu komentara ispod, koju uvijek izaziva tema. Slicne rasprava je prije izazivala Radeon / FirePro tematika. Evo, bas gledam, nisam ni znao da se FirePro isto preimenovala, te je sad Radeon Pro.

Baci oko na tekst, pa onda kontroverzu komentara ispod, koju uvijek izaziva tema. Slicne rasprava je prije izazivala Radeon / FirePro tematika. Evo, bas gledam, nisam ni znao da se FirePro isto preimenovala, te je sad Radeon Pro.

Slažem se sa svim navedenim, uz opasku da to vrijedi samo za novije verzije Quadro/RTX grafičkih kartica jer se tu počela pojavljivati arhitektura koja već zalazi u područje koje nije čisti CAD/CAM/3D, ono s neuralnim mrežama već ulazi u područje AI-a. I znam da je tu Nvidija počela s Tesla karticama koje su opet bile posebno namijenjene čistim kalkulacijama, koja god da im je bila znanstvena svrha. S novom generacijom grafičkih procesora nema čistog razgraničenja područja primjene, zato su i ugasili Teslu i Quadro preimenovali u Nvidia Data Center GPUs i RTX. I neću se čuditi ako za godinu-dvije ostane samo jedan novi brand profesionalnih grafičkih kartica koji pokriva oba segmenta koje su pokrivale i Tesla i Quadro grafičke kartice.
I opet ponavljam, uz sve dijagrame mi ne znamo koja je zapravo realna razlika između klasične i profi kartice zasnovane na istom grafičkom procesoru.
Ako pogledamo napredak grafičkih kartica, sjetimo se da je prije RTX serije bio san imati gamersku grafičku karticu koja ray tracing izvodi on-fly u igrama.

Ako stvarno pričamo samo o razlici u optimizaciji drivera onda se to dosta dobro uklapa u moje iskustvo s ponašanjem nvidije te moje mišljenje o istom.

Jedina hardverska razlika je bila u tome što su Quadro kartice ponekad imale više VRAM-a, sve ostalo je isto GeForce modelima. Quadro su dolazile s "certificiranim" driverima za neke programe koji su to znali iskoristiti i zato su bile brže.

Sjećam se da sam soft-modao staru Nvidia 6800 u Quadro 4000 i dobivao bolje performanse u OpenGL igrama.

Aha, znaci samo se ime mijenja, ali i dalje ce biti drukcije i imenom i izvedbom od geforcea. Onda, ono, koga briga :)

Pa da, sve ostaje isto, nije vise quadro nego je RTX Axxx , tipa RTX A6000

Bilo bi zanimljivo kada bi netko napravio usporedbu gamerske grafe i RX pandana, kako u igrama tako i u profi programima pa da vidimo imaju li one uopće smisla i da li performanse opravdavaju znatno višu cijenu.

U ovom clanku je vidiljivo apsolutno nista osim HW usporebe i mogucih scenarija. Kolega je pitao direkta usporedba u primjeni, ne rekla kazala (osim multiple monitor setupa).

Zaključak: ovisno o aplikaciji koja se koristi, Za allroundere definitivno nije.
