Lagano izlaze informacije o novoj-staroj stvari u smart home svijetu: matter standardu

Radi se o protokolu tj. praktički jeziku koji je dogovoren između različitih vendora okupljenih u alijansu, preko kojega će razni uređaji, različitih vendora komunicirati među sobom bez posrednika. S tim da će ipak biti potrebno imati nekakav HUB za naprednije opcije, koji će koordinirati sve uređaje.

Spominju se neka velika imena: Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung SmartThings and the Zigbee Alliance, no ostaje za vidjeti kako će se sve razvijati. Navodno već neki vendori žele svoje podstandarde. :nono:

Matter, formerly Project Connected Home over IP (CHIP), is a royalty-free home automation connectivity standard, with manufacturers only incurring certification costs. Announced on 18 December 2019, Matter aims to reduce fragmentation across different vendors, and achieve interoperability among smart home devices and Internet of things (IoT) platforms from different providers. The project group was launched and introduced by Amazon, Apple, Google, Comcast and the Zigbee Alliance, now Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). Subsequent members include IKEA, Huawei, and Schneider. Matter-compatible products and software updates for existing products are expected to be released in late 2022.

Version 1.0 of the specification was published 04 October 2022. The Matter specification is provided at no charge upon request after providing full name, company name, email address and consenting to their privacy policy, but cannot be redistributed without permission from CSA. The Matter software development kit is open-source under the Apache license.
