AMD will move any remaining Athlon 64 processors from the 90nm node to the 65nm node, with a few new frequency and TDP variations.

• The AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ will be the first to jump on the new 65nm K8 bandwagon with a 65W TDP. The previous Windsor-based chip of the same featured an 89-Watt TDP. AMD will also add 100 MHz to the core frequency of the Athlon 64 X2 5600+, now rated at 2.9 GHz. Total L2 cache will be halved in the move to the Brisbane core, and the updated Athlon 64 X2 5600+ chips will feature only 1MB of L2 cache. Availability of these processors is scheduled for Q1 2008.

• AMD's higher-end Athlon 64 X2 6400+ and Athlon 64 X2 6000+ will both be discontinued.

• AMD will also update its "Energy Efficient" series and will release three new chips, the AMD Athlon 4850e, Athlon 4450e, and Athlon 4050e in Q2 2008. All of the new offerings will be based on AMD's Brisbane core and will feature a 45-Watt thermal envelope. AMD's current energy efficient "BE-2xxx" series will be phased out at that time. Respectively, the new chips will run at 2.5GHz, 2.3GHz and 2.1GHz. All new Brisbane chips will be based on the Socket AM2 interface. These processors are compatible with AMD's AM2+ socket designated for Phenom processors.

What you are seeing above is an AMD RS780 next-gen chipset that has a DX10 R600 derivative “GPU” integrated. The external discrete video card plugged into the primary PCI-Express slot is a next-gen RV620 GPU. It is a 55nm DX10.1 PCIe Gen. 2 part with 256MB of local GDDR3 memory. Unfortunately, the first incarnation of Hybrid Crossfire with the RS780 will only really work with the upcoming Radeon HD 3400 series GPUs. If you stick a Radeon HD 3400 card (the 3450 and 3470 will arrive early next year), both the integrated RV610 graphics and the Radeon HD 3400 will work in tandem during 3D games.

Ovo mi se vec svidja. Dfi je na prvi pogled napravil jako dobar posel, e sad kakvom se bude pokazala to je vec drugi par japanki. Ipak to je high end ploca nebi smjelo bit mjesta pogreskama.

Jako lijepo što na ploči nigdje nema heatpipeova. To znači da se baš i ne grije. Vrlo zgodno.

Ili su štedili na hladnjacima, na ovoj mojoj nf4 se nisu baš pretrgli sa onom malom zujalicom na chipsetu.

Edit: Izgleda vrlo slično ovoj mojoj. Još kad bi AMD izdao dobre Phenome, ljubav na prvi pogled :D

EDIT: Zbilja, ova što je Jelc dao link ima još jedno S u imenu i nema digitalnu regulaciju napajanja :stoopid:. Znači, postoje 2 varjante ploče?

Znam kako izgleda ta zujalica obzirom da sam imao DFI Infinity nF4 Ultra. Mogu reći da je nisam ni primjećivao (što se buke tiče), a vrtila se k'o blesava debelo preko 1.000 rpm.

Ovo s heatpipeima je M2R, Jelc je postal vijest o M2RS, a ima i M2RV verzija s VoIP karticom.

Je, dvije verzije ploče. Makar kad se pogleda da ima i ova s VoIP karticom, makar je u ostatku identična M2R, onda su već tri verzije u igri.:)

J&W AM2+ ploče
 

J&W will release two new boards, the first is a AMD 770 board, model is JW-RX780X-AM2+. It uses AMD 770+SB600. It is of ATX form factor and supports AM2/AM2+, DD2 memory. The more interesting model is JW-RS780G-UVD+ based on the AMD RS780 chipset. It is a mATX board. The IGP supports DX10 and UVD for hardware acceleration of H.264, VC-1. The mainboard comes with 1 xPCI-E X16, 1xPCI, 6X SATA2, 1XIDE channel, HDMI, VGA, DVI output and dual BIOS. As per chipset, this board will support Hybrid CrossFire when drivers are out in late Feb or Early March.

Low-power Phenom i Athlon modeli
 

AMD is lining up several low-power variants of its quad-core Phenom and dual-core Athlon CPUs to launch late this quarter or early in the second quarter of 2008.

The low-power Phenom 9100e is scheduled for release in February or March this year and will come with a core frequency of 1.8GHz, DDR2 1066 memory controller and TDP of 65W. At the beginning of the second quarter, AMD will phase out the 9100e and launch the 9150e, according to sources at motherboard makers, which offers the same specifications. The differences between the 9100e and 9150e are unclear at this time although most likely is that 9150e is based on the B3 stepping revision.

AMD 790GX chipset to replace discrete chipsets? With integrated graphics support and CrossFire X support. We presume ATX boards with 2 PCIe full length slots with capabilities of CrossFire X (PCIe x 8 x2) and Hybrid CrossFire. It is said that it is capable of doing 3 way CFX using the on board 2x8 CF + UMA. This new chipset is known as AMD 790GX, also known as RS780D is integrated with Radeon HD 3300 graphics.

Ko naručene. Sumnjam da bi/bude se neko na forumu bunil na jednu od ovih s UVDom.:sweating:

RS780 chipset mi izgleda kao onaj koji će ići na ploče za ~500kn. CrossfireX mi ne treba. Prodam ovu svoju matičnu i za manju razliku nego što bi me došla grafa (ono što me Jelc tjera da kupim već pol godine :D), kupim si novu matičnu sa integriranom grafom koja ima podršku za UVD. Iako i to treba prvo vidjeti iskustva, jer nešta što ima podršku za UVD, ne znači da će i dobro raditi sa filmovima (2400pro kartice).

Ako je za vjerovati, zauzeće je ~10-15%. IGP se da i naclockati ako ti bu trebalo.:D

OCW mi je pouzdan forum, tako da vjerujem da UVD radi kako spada :)

Hladni čipset sa ultra mega integriranom grafikom (vlastitih 64Mb framebuffera). Uz to neki low power 45nm K10 sa AC ili Scythe hladnjakom, tihi diskić i napajanje ... ah, jednog dana. Trenutno mi je i ovo što imam previše ;).

Pa pored pristojnog 22" monitora i kakav HD televizorček pripojiti na sve to.:)

No, bar budeš imal ATI integrušu a ne ovaj ćiknšit na kojem sad gubiš oči...

45nm Phenom procesori u Q4 2008. i detalji oko 8000 serije procesora
 

AMD recently notified partners that its 45nm-based processors will be launched on time by the second half of 2008. The company highlighted that the new processors will consume less power and have better performance. AMD's 45nm processors are expected to see core frequencies greatly increased, while L3 cache sizes will grow from 2MB to 6MB. Power consumption of the cache will also see a significant drop, noted the sources.

The initial launch of AMD's 45nm processors will be AM2+ socket-based with memory support up to DDR2 1066. The company will launch AM3 socket-based processors with a built-in DDR2 and DDR3 memory controller in the first quarter of 2009, which will support memory up to DDR3 1333.

Zvuči dobro no AMD već neko duže vrijeme samo obećava a Intel radi. Zapravo je sad Intel malo usporio jer mu se ne isplati toliko raditi kad nema konkurencije.
Da nije to neka AMD-ova čudna igra? Namjerno izdaju slabe procesore, puštaju priču o manjem ulaganju u razvoj... samo da bi se Intel opustio i onda najednom izdaju nešto jako dobro! Zvuči kao (S)F.

AMD još od kraja '06. i početka '07. raspolaže s 300mm wafferima za 45nm procesore. Procesori su testirani i upogonjeni, ali se cijelo vrijeme spominje '08. (tj. njena druga polovica) za službeno predstavljanje i lansiranje. Dal imaju spremno kakvo iznenađenje (i usput se igraju mačke i miša s izraelskim plaćenicima:)) ili se foliraju, dok se drugi nadaju njihovoj propasti? Sve je moguće.

Moram priznati da bi to bio vrlo zanimljiv obrat situacije!

Službeno lansiranje je predviđeno za kraj drugog i početak trećeg mjeseca, tak da ne bi bilo ništ čudno da nakon CeBITa počnu lagano stizati u naše dućane. Pošto tokom šestog/sedmog mjesca stiže Phenom 9150e s B3 steppingom kao zamjena.

O QC sam mislio razmišljati početkom slijedeće godine kad se pojave AMD-ovi 45nm QC procesori.
Mada realno nemam potrebu za QC procesor, ali ovakve cijene te vuku :)

45nm Quad-Core procesori predstavljeni na CeBITu
 

At CeBit show that is currently on in Hanover, Germany, AMD for the first time demonstrated their quad-core processors with K10 micro-architecture manufactured with 45nm process. The processors were produced in Dresden, Germany, in AMD’s Fab 36 300mm manufacturing facility, using an advanced 45nm process co-developed with IBM. The first 45nm chips demonstrated by AMD include the “Shanghai” product for server and “Deneb” for desktop platforms. This fact proves that AMD is on track to meet key production milestones, which support OEM and channel product delivery plans. AMD is ramping production of its first 45nm products in the first half of 2008 and expects 45nm products to be available in the second half of 2008.

Key innovations within AMD’s 45nm process are scheduled to include Immersion Lithography, Fourth-generation Strained Silicon, Ultra-low-k Dielectrics, and High-k/metal Gates. However, the initial 45 nm CPU generation will not use high-k dielectric metal gate technology. AMD believes that it can be “competitive” without high-k at this time, but high-k is an option to be introduced at a later stage of 45 nm production.

45nm Deneb and Shanghai processors are expected to have their shared L3 cache increased to 6MB. As a result of transition from 65nm to 45nm production technology, they should be able to drop processor TDP one step down. The top CPUs should have their maximum TDP reduced from 140W to 125W. More mainstream quad-core processor models should have their TDP dropped from 125W to 95W with the transition to 45nm process. They also expect the clock speed of the top CPU models to increase at least to 2.8-3.0GHz. All 45nm desktop AMD processors scheduled to be released this year will be designed for Socket AM2+ and will support DDR2-1066 SDRAM. Only in Q1 2009 we should see Socket AM3 processors that will also support DDR3-1333 in addition to their compatibility with DDR2 memory.

AMD RS780 A12 revision posts problems for low-cost Phenom
 

Following the initial round of applause for its graphics capabilities the RS780 chip which powers AMD 780V and 780G motherboards has been found to not play nice with the upcoming Phenom 9100e. As it has been discovered the current revision of the RS780, A12 has a problem with the 1.8GHz Phenom 910e's HyperTransport link which works at 1.6 GHz, significantly lower than that of the Phenom 9500 and 9600s.

When the 9100e is used with A12 silicon the CPU's HT link is set to just 1GHz, this meaning lower performance from the quad-core part. This problem is expected to be fixed with the A13 revision of the RS780 but this won't help early adopters of AMD 780 motherboard that will also buy a 9100e or the 9150e.
