The group responsible for the ransomware attack on nVidia servers a few days ago, now reports that they had access to nVidia servers for about a week and have been able to gain admin access to a lot of systems. Furthermore, the group claims that despite nVidia’s efforts the data including drivers, schematics or firmware has been accessed. To make matters worse, it is said that an LHR V2 bypass for GA102 / GA104 GPUs is now being offered for sale, which means that the group has allegedly found the algorithm that was responsible for the crypto mining hash rate limiter implemented into the RTX 30 series last year. The group has already released the first part of the leak and based on what we have been told the partial data included in the package appears to match the claims.

Polako, ali sigurno i puštaju, unatrag zadnjih par dana svako malo nešto od detalja (1 - 2) novih GPU arhitektura procuri na Internet. Slično kak je bilo za nadolazeće AMD i Intel modele, kad su hakirali Gigabyte.

Zajeb je u tome da je nVidia ovo htjela pomesti pod tepih i prije, nego su krenule prve vijesti o potencijalnom hakerskom + ransomware napadu, a sad htjeli ili ne, stvari cure diljem neta.

More than 71,000 employee credentials were stolen and some of them leaked online following a data breach suffered by US chipmaker giant nVidia last month. The Have I Been Pwned data breach notification service has added data belonging to 71,335 compromised accounts to its database on Wednesday. Have I Been Pwned says the stolen data contains "email addresses and NTLM password hashes, many of which were subsequently cracked and circulated within the hacking community." nVidia confirmed on March 1st that its network was breached last month, with the attackers gaining access to employees' login data and proprietary information.

nVidia's new H100 is fabricated on TSMC's 4N process (an updated version of TSMC’s N5 technology that offers better power/performance characteristics and a very modest improvement in density. So even at just two years after Ampere, nVidia is making a full node jump and then some for GH100), and the monolithic design contains some 80 billion transistors. To put that number in scale, GA100 is "just" 54 billion, and the GA102 GPU in the RTX 3090 is a measly 28.3 billion. Despite being such a massive processor, and despite being fabricated on the absolute bleeding edge of microprocessor process technology, the TDP for the SXM (mezzanine) version of the chip is 700 Watts. The move to HBM3 memory improves the per-pin transfer rate from 2.43Gbps to 4.8Gbps, but otherwise the memory configuration is unchanged: five active stacks of HBM3 (with one dummy) giving a total capacity of 80GB per GPU and total bandwidth of 3TB/sec. The GPU's NVLink connection steps up to the 4th generation, too, resulting in 900GB/sec bandwidth between the GPU and its host system. For products that don't use NVLink, H100 also implements PCIe 5.0.

mislim da je to više problem nedostatka dobrih igara, a ni igre se nesmije previše raspištoljit jer se nece kurca prodat ako maxwell ili slično nemože vrtit igru

tako da više manje vodi pomalo stagnaciji gaminga, barem dok traju sranja

With the release of Hopper, nVidia's cycle of new architecture releases is not yet over. Later this year, we expect to see next-generation gaming architecture codenamed Ada Lovelace. According to a well-known hardware leaker for nVidia products, @kopite7kimi, on Twitter, the green team is reportedly testing a potent variant of the upcoming AD102 SKU. As the leak indicates, we could see an Ada Lovelace AD102 SKU with a Total Graphics Power (TGP) of 900 Watts. While we don't know where this SKU is supposed to sit in the Ada Lovelace family, it could be the most powerful, Titan-like design making a comeback. Alternatively, this could be a GeForce RTX 4090 Ti SKU. It carries 48 GB of GDDR6X memory running at 24 Gbps speeds alongside monstrous TGP. Feeding the card are two 16-pin connectors. Another confirmation from the leaker is that the upcoming RTX 4080 GPU uses the AD103 SKU variant, while the RTX 4090 uses AD102. For further information, we have to wait a few more months and see what nVidia decides to launch in the upcoming generation of gaming-oriented graphics cards.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced Friday that it settled charges against multinational tech firm nVidia for "inadequate disclosures" of cryptomining's impact on its gaming business. Settled charges are linked to nVidia's failure to disclose that much of the company's gaming sales were boosted by cryptomining, with customers increasingly using nVidia GPUs to mine for cryptocurrency starting with 2017. The SEC's order (PDF) reveals that nVidia's gaming revenue increased by 52% for the second fiscal quarter of 2018 (year over year) and by 25% for the third fiscal quarter of 2018 (year over year). While analysts and investors were interested in understanding how much the company's gaming revenue was affected by cryptomining, nVidia did not disclose its massive impact in quarterly reports filed for the second and third fiscal quarters of 2018. The fact that nVidia shared information on how the increasing demand for cryptocurrency had driven other parts of its business also added to the impression that its gaming business was not notably affected.

The day has finally come: NVIDIA IS PUBLISHING THEIR LINUX GPU KERNEL MODULES AS OPEN-SOURCE! To much excitement and a sign of the times, the embargo has just expired on this super-exciting milestone that many of us have been hoping to see for many years. Over the past two decades NVIDIA has offered great Linux driver support with their proprietary driver stack, but with the success of AMD's open-source driver effort going on for more than a decade, many have been calling for NVIDIA to open up their drivers. Their user-space software is remaining closed-source but as of today they have formally opened up their Linux GPU kernel modules and will be maintaining it moving forward. Here's the scoop on this landmark open-source decision at NVIDIA. Well, now the embargo has just expired and the lid can be lifted - NVIDIA is providing a fully open-source kernel driver solution for their graphics offerings.

Jensen Huang, co-founder and CEO of nVidia, confirmed the CPU choice during a fireside chat Tuesday at the BofA Securities 2022 Global Technology Conference. Nvidia positions the DGX family as the premier vehicle for its datacenter GPUs, pre-loading the machines with its software and optimizing them to provide the fastest AI performance as individual systems or in large supercomputer clusters. "We buy a lot of x86s. We have great partnerships with Intel and AMD. For the Hopper generation, I've selected Sapphire Rapids to be the CPU for nVidia Hopper, and Sapphire Rapids has excellent single-threaded performance." This comes after industry publication ServeTheHome reported in mid-April that nVidia had motherboard designs for both Sapphire Rapids and AMD's upcoming EPYC CPU, code-named Genoa, for the DGX H100 as the GPU giant had not yet decided on which x86 chip it would use.

Intel's new server processor is not finished. After being delayed several times, Intel admits to further delays while also looking ahead. Because the refresh Emerald Rapids should appear within a year. Not only was the second quarter more than obviously missed, the ramp-up phase planned after that was delayed more than originally planned, according to Intel's own statements. So there are probably still difficulties in validating the CPU and the entire new platform, but there are said to be no manufacturing problems. Intel Ice Lake-SP remains the more important product for the year. Bottom line is that Intel Sapphire Rapids is the next product to be launched more than a year late, in the end it should even be more than 1.5 years. Intel was at least able to equip a few demo systems for the ISC 2022 in Hamburg last week, some of which the editors were also able to look at, but it will remain so for some time.

S obzirom da bi Nvidia mogla imati svoju proizvodnju odredenih cipova preko Intela, odabir Nvidie za Intel Cpu-e je logican.

Fora je u tome da je nVidia jučer za DGX najavila Sapphire Rapids koji (danas potvrđeno opet) kasni i prije bude stigla zamjena, mada i to je upitno u ovoj Intel priči - zato sam stavil u ovu temu, jer se ne zna ko pije, a ko plaća u ovoj kombinaciji.

nVidia zapravo ne treba ni AMD ni Intel, jer imaju svoja ARM čudovišta, dok je proizvodnja kod Intela samo usputno spomenuta. Intel ovisi o TSMC-u dok istovremeno pričaju o konkurenciji i proizvodnji.

TSMC će svima njima na kraju proizvoditi sve, a razlike budu samo u arhitekturi i pošteno, jer istu stvar već više od 20 godina imamo za Radeon i GeForce kartice.:chears:

Meni je nevjerovatno to s TDP. Imam 1080ti i undervoltana mi je na 200W, a i s time mi klima sad radi cijelo vrijeme, ne želim ni pomišljat 450W.

nVidia RTX 40 based laptops would have almost identical power limits as current generation. According to Kopite7kimi, the flagship AD103 mobile part would have a TGP of 175W, the same value as the current GA103 part that launched earlier this year. Interestingly, the same max TGP would apply to the AD104 GPU, and that would actually be an increase by 10W over GA104 models. The leaker also claims that the power limit for desktop AD102 GPU is 800W. However, it is worth noting that the same leaker previously claimed that nVidia is currently validating an SKU with 900W power. This rumored SKU would have higher TGP than the now claimed limit, therefore either of the two rumors is incorrect.

It is important to note the difference between power limit and TDP of actual GeForce SKU. The TDP should almost certainly be lower, while the power limit will lock overclocking from reaching a higher value. Therefore, the listed power limits may not necessarily apply to TDP of RTX 4090/4080/4070 and 4060 series, but rather how much power can be applied by board partners and through manual overclocking. However, even when considering power limits, the TDP will be significantly higher for almost all RTX 40 SKUs by up to ~100W. It is unclear though if nVidia wants to equip all RTX 40 cards with the new PCIe Gen5 power connector that can alone provide 600W.

Top modeli bi trebali dolaziti sa vodenim hladenjem, inace ce kartice biti velicine blokova a za vrijeme gaminga postaju grijalice.

Mislim da će im se obit o glavu svima sad chrash kartica + fermi 3 (RTX 4xxx).

Uopće ne vidim potrebu za tim, gledam sad RTX 3090 ima po e bay ispod 1000$, ići će to i na 500$ :roller:
Sad još počinju i vrućine i trebat će i klime palit za majnanje (ekstra trošak).

Najviše me veseli da će se nvidiji obit u glavu to napuhavanje cijena tak da će im dumpat i cijenu nove generacije.

Znam da nije tema ali je na neki način povezano. Vidimo povećava se dostupnost grafičkih kartica i cijene padaju dok dostupnost ostalih računalnih komponenti nije niti bila problematična. U tom svjetlu, radi čega onda je još uvjek kritična dostupnost igraćih konzola, ps5 prvenstveno
