Pa rambus je trošio i grijao se. Intel je probao progurati rambus + netburst arhitekturu, a obje stvari su bile loše rješenje naspram konkurencije (za iste novce). PIV se još nekak održao sa lošom arhitekturom jer "ipak je to intel", ali memorija je neslavno potonula kad su se svi okrenuli hladnijem DDR-u i srušili cijene jako.

Nemojte se previše oslanjati na ove glasine. To nije ništa službeno. Puno toga se može dovesti u pitanje. Ako će 79x0 koristiti HP proces onda ne treba očekivati da se pojavi ove godine.
Pa definitivno ne bu došle sada na jesen. Nitko nije to rekel ;)

Ove na HPL procesu bi i mogle po nekim nagađanjima, taj proces ima puno manje problema.

Pa rekli su Q4 ove godine za slabije i mainstream modele. S obzirom na prijašnja iskustva velika je vjerojatnost da se to i ostvari. Da je o nvidiji riječ. To bi bila druga priča :D

Sve je to super, nova serija, novi modeli, nova tehnologija.....ali kad se pojave vidjet ćemo koliko će biti $$$$$

78xx i nize bi trebali koristiti VLIW4 arhitekturu, kao sto sada koristi 69xx serija. Najveca promjena je vjerojatno smanjenje proizvodnog procesa i povecanje taktova i broja SP-a. Pa samim time i cijena ne bi trebala biti pretjerano razlicita od 69xx serije.

Tek bi sa 79xx serijom trebala doci skroz nova arhitektura, Graphics Core Next. Nesto slicno kao Fermi kod nvidie.
Ali to su za sada sve spekulacije, nikakvih sluzbenih podataka o tome nema.

AMD Demonstrates Radeon HD 7000 "Southern Islands"
At its own media event in San Francisco, California, Advanced Micro Devices has showcased a system featuring its next-generation AMD Radeon HD 7000-series graphics processing unit (GPU) code-named Southern Islands. The demonstration is a proof-of-concept that AMD is on-track to deliver its first graphics chips made using 28nm process technology. "Today, we provided an early look at our upcoming 28nm next-gen notebook discrete GPU, driving Codemasters’ cutting-edge driving simulator, DiRT3, demonstrating that we have working 28nm technology in house and already delivering a great gaming experience," a statement by AMD reads. The company remained tight-lipped about specifications and architectural peculiarities of the demonstrated Southern Islands graphics processor. Everything that is known at present is that the company's 28nm GPUs are already fully functional and the company is ready to formally introduce them. Unfortunately, given the rumours that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has issues with 28nm production ramp and recently even hiked the quotes on 28nm wafers, it is unclear whether AMD will be able to release its new GPUs in volume, or those will be limited edition products.

Before you get too excited the initial launch is only to be comprised of mobile GPUs and maybe some low end GPUs.

Pa kaj nije bilo za očekivati da bu u novom proizvodnom prvo išao "low end", a onda tek da će doći za jači modeli! Barem sam ja takav dojam stekao otprije pa me ovo nimalo ne iznenađuje!

Obicno ide prvo mid end, govorka se da izlazi polovicom prvog mjeseca.

Pročitao sam prije dva dana:) Ne treba čitati do kraja, piše sve u prvoj rečenici:)

Nose ime 7XXX, zar ne? Nije isključeno da se to dogodi i na nekom drugom dijelu lineupa, kao sa 6770 npr.

Bez obzira na to što je riječ o novom proizvodnom procesu, Nvidia je to već izvodila sa GTS 250.

On the 9th, AMD is expected to unveil at least two new SKUs in the HD 7900 series, most likely, HD 7970 and HD 7950. These will be based on the new 28 nm "Tahiti" silicon that will use completely redesigned number-crunching machinery, and a very wide memory bus.

Reliable sources among AMD add-in board partners told DonanimHaber that the upcoming AMD Radeon HD 7900 series will introduce a new feature that other SKUs based on Southern Islands GPUs could also include. It's called Eyefinity 3D, and as the name might suggest, it's the next major update to Eyefinity, a technology that lets you span a single display head across up to six physical displays, and gives you the ability to use your available physical displays to accommodate multiple such display heads.

Eyefinity 3D adds support for 3D-optimized (120 Hz) displays, and lets you create large stereoscopic 3D display heads using a number of physical 3D displays. The technology behind this might not be as simple as it sounds, because the driver has to take into account the viewing angles of the displays in perspective to the user (as entered by the user), and calibrate the 3D image output. The same sources also hinted about the pricing of Radeon HD 7970.

AMD's next generation "Tahiti" is shaping up to be more of a monolithic high-end GPU than a high-performance GPU. Hence, single-GPU graphics cards based on it are expected to be expensive. An add-in board (AIB) partner told DonanimHaber that the European pricing of the HD 7970 will be in the range of 539-549 Euro, while its FOB price will be 500-510 Euro.

550 eura europska cijena ili 600eura kod nas ili 4000kn +. Bas me zanima koliko ce brzo bit to cudo ak ima takvu cijenu s obzirom da je AMD. Koliko ce onda kostat nadolazece Nvidije..
