Asus M4A89GTD Pro USB3 890GX AM3 ploča
 

Asus seems to be ready with one of its first motherboards based on the AMD 890GX chipset. This socket AM3 series of motherboards seems to come in two variants: M4A89GTD Pro and M4A89GTD Pro USB3 (with the latter having support for USB 3.0 SuperSpeed connectivity. An early development version of this motherboard was displayed at this year's CES event. Fresh pictures show a production-grade model, complete with chipset and VRM cooling, as well as a box design.

The M4A89GTD Pro / USB3 is a socket AM3 motherboard with a 10-phase CPU VRM supporting future AMD CPUs with 140W TDP, 2-phase memory VRM powering the four DDR3 DIMM slots, AMD 890GX chipset with faster DirectX 10.1 compliant graphics, and AMD SB800 southbridge. The SB800 provides six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, while an additional JMicron-made controller gives out the IDE connector (and possibly the lone eSATA port). Expansion slots include two PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots (x8/x8 when both are populated), two PCI, and one each of PCI-E x1 and PCI-E x4. Connectivity includes 8+2 channel HD audio with optical SPDIF output, gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 ports (on the USB3 variant), FireWire, and display connectivity including DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. The M4A89GTD Pro / USB3 is expected to be launched a little ahead of AMD's launch of its six-core Phenom II X6 processors.

AMD 800 serija čipseta
 

In the works for quite some time, AMD's new 8 Series chipsets are closing in fast, with a new report claiming that the new silicon will debut next week and continue its roll-out in April. The first 8 Series release is supposed to be the 890GX chip which will support AM3 processors and be equipped with the DirectX 10.1-ready Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics core. This one will debut on March 1st and be present in waves at the CeBIT (within motherboards of course). Almost two months after the 890GX, on April 26, AMD is rumored to be planning the release of the 880G, which features the Radeon HD 4250 IGP, and two graphics-lacking chips, the 890FX (high-end) and 870 (mid-range). Most, if not all 8 Series-based motherboard should come with native SATA 6.0 Gbps support as AMD's new southbridge chips include the standard.

ASRock is slated to launch its AMD 890GX mainboard at CeBIT 2010 next week. The mainboard model is ASRock 890GX Extreme3 (true 333), and it features all solid capacitor design in a full ATX layout. It support for Socket AM3 processors: AMD Phenom II X4/X3/X2 (except 920/940)/Athlon II X4/ X3/ X2/Sempron processors. Based on the AMD 890GX + SB850, it supports 4xDDR3 DIMM slots, 3xPCIe 2.0 x16, 1xPCIe 2.0 x1 and 3xPCI slots. Asus ROG Crosshair IV Formula i Crosshair IV Extreme AM3 ploče
 

Asus makes a return to the higher-end of the AMD platform with two motherboards in its elite Republic of Gamers (ROG) series, with the Crosshair IV Formula and Crosshair IV Extreme. Both motherboards are based on the AMD 890FX + SB850 chipset, and support socket AM3 processors. While the Crosshair IV Formula targets high-end gaming builds, the Crosshair IV Extreme goes all out to woo overclockers. The Crosshair IV Formula, to begin with, has six expansion slots, of which four are PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (operating at x8 when all are populated, or x16, NC, x16, NC), and two PCI slots. The SB850 southbridge gives out six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, while an additional controller gives out two 3 Gb/s ports (one being eSATA). The CPU is powered by a 10+2 phase VRM, with two phase memory power. Connectivity includes 8+2 channel audio with SPDIF connectivity, gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, eSATA, two USB 3.0 ports, and a number of USB 2.0 ports. The board supports the iROG feature, along with a host of other overclocker-friendly features.

The Crosshair IV Extreme, on the other hand, is probably the most complex motherboard for the AMD platform. Apart from overclocker-friendly features of the C-4 Formula, C-4 Extreme adds a wide range of electrical enhancements that include better power conditioning with Super ML capacitors, PWM circuitry, voltage measure points, ProbeIT feature, PCI-Express electrical control switches, iROG Bluetooth device control, physically redundant BIOS ROM chips, and a number of other features. The board itself is closer to being EATX sized. There are four PCI-Express x16 slots here too, but with 1U spacing between them. An open-ended PCI-Express 1.1 x4 and PCI make for the other slots. There are six SATA 6 Gb/s ports here, too, with additional SATA 3 Gb/s controllers, and connectivity largely identical to that of the C-4 Formula. We presume ASUS will release these two in late April, around the time when AMD rolls out its Phenom II X6 processors.

Bas me zanima oce li te nove 890GX/FX ploce moci otkljucavati Phenome? Ili ce ko i do sad samo Gigabyte davati tu opciju. Vidim test MSI 890GXM G65 ploce ali niko ne spominje nista u vezi toga...

Sve ovisi o proizviđaču, jer (službeno, mada je i prije to bilo sivo područje) u BIOS-u više nema ACC opcija potrebnih za otključavanje jezgri. Proizvođači to sad implementiraju na svoju ruku i protivno AMD-ovim smjernicama u obliku npr. UCC opcija u BIOS-u ili putem raznih jumpera i preklopnika na samoj ploči. Jezgre se budu i dalje mogle otključavati, samo kaj bude trebalo malo više paziti kod odabira ploče.:)

Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB 3 ima na sebi baš takve jumpere kakve je i MCG spomenuo, za otključavanje dodatnih jezgri. Izgleda kako će to samo biti "prestiž" malo skupljih ploča, ili kako bi mi to iz našeg kuta gledanja preveli; marketing i te fore. :)

Ma ne treba se opće zamarati s otključavanjem, jer slična "panika" je bila kad su predstavljeni čipseti kombinirani s SB710.
Isto je AMD tražil da se maknu sve opcije i mogužnosti otključavanja, pa je unatoč tome svaki proizvođač nudil masu ploča koje se bile opremljene BIOS-om potrebnim za pokušaje otključavanja.

Biostar TA890FXE AM3 ploča
 

Biostar is readying a mid-range motherboard in its T-Series lineup based on AMD's upcoming 890FX + SB850 chipset. The T-Series TA890FXE was pictured at the ongoing CeBIT event without its cooling assembly. It supports existing and upcoming socket AM3 processors, including Phenom II X6. The CPU is powered by a 5+1 phase VRM, supporting 140W processors. The 890FX chipset gives out four PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots supporting ATi CrossFireX technology, apart from two legacy PCI slots. The SB850 southbridge gives out six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, of which five are internal, probably one external. An additional storage controller by VIA drives the lone IDE connector. 7.1 channel HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, and FireWire make for the rest of it. The TA890FXE is expected to be out later in April, when AMD unveils its latest processors.

Gigabyte 880G i 890FX AM3 ploče
 

The GA-880GMA-UD2H is a microATX board that is based on the upcoming AMD 880G chipset. In fact, AMD 880G chipset is not much different the AMD 785G launch a few months ago. The major difference is the integrated graphics is Radeon HD 4250 (DX10.1) instead of Radeon HD 4200 on 785G. From what we gather, it is just a higher GPU CLK but there might be some other changes as we get closer to the official launch. This board supports the AM3 Phenom II/Athlon II with HT3. It supports up to DDR3-1800+. It uses 2oz copper PCB and UD3 classic design. It has NEC USB 3.0 chip on board with 3X USB power delivery for better compatibility and stability for USB devices. It also include 2 full length PCIe lanes to support CrossFire X.

The GA-890FXA-UD5 is based on 890FX + SB850 chipset, a discrete chipset with no graphcis embedded inside. It is a full ATX board with 4 full length PCIe 2.0 slots on board for Quad CrossFire X. It also incorporates a UD3 design and has 4 DIMM slots supporting up to DDR3-1866+. It also has NEC 3.0 chip on board to support USB 3.0 connector. 3X USB power is also availabel for better compatibility and extra power for USB devices. The board also has 6 SATA 6Gbps ports supported by SB850 for RAID 0,1,5,10. There is a Jmicron controller which support 2 more SATA 3Gbps ports and 1 IDE channel. ASRockovo rješenje za otključavanje jezgri na pločama iz AMD 800 serije
 

AMD ACC is a feature of the company's 7-Series chipsets which uses a debugging backchannel going from the Southbridge to the processor to change certain CPU aspects, one of them being the "disable cores" feature on modern AMD CPUs. This allows you to play the AMD Casino, go get a cheap triple core, unlock its fourth core and hope it works (it usually does). As you can imagine, AMD is not all excited about this feature being used by most motherboard manufacturerers, so they left out the ACC interface in their 8-Series Southbridge, effectively disabling access to ACC.

Now motherboard manufacturers found a solution to circumvent this limitation, they simply add a little chip to the motherboard that enables that functionality by providing its own ACC interface. ASRock - well known for their price/performance optimized boards - went this route and a bit further. Unlike other solutions the feature can be enabled without a physical switch, ASRock's UCC feature can be controlled directly in the BIOS without any manual intervention by the user. The option will be available on all their 8-Series motherboards: 890GX Extreme3, 890GMH/USB3, 880GMH/USB3.

Foxconn 890GX ploče iz Digital Life serije
 

Foxconn made additions to its own channel brand of motherboards with two Digital Lifes series models based on the AMD 890GX chipset, supporting socket AM3 processors. The nearly identical Foxconn Digital Life A9DA-S and A9DA (pictured in the same order below), are ATX boards building on the features the chipset provides. The CPU is powered by an 8-phase VRM. The AMD 890GX embeds an ATi Radeon HD 4290 class IGP with 128 MB (+UMA) SidePort memory and connectivity which includes DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. Expansion slots include two each of PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x8 when both are populated), PCI-E x1, and PCI. The SB850 southbridge gives out six SATA 6 Gb/s ports. Other standard features include 8-channel HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, and a number of USB 2.0 ports. The A9DA-S is the more premium variant, it has a heatsink over the CPU VRM, and a VIA 2-port FireWire controller. The two should be available in stores soon.

Kak su smiješne ove dve slike, poput "before i after" reklama.:D Jako mi se sviđa layout, a cijena će biti sigurno razumna. Šteta kaj nema Foxconna u nas.:(

Ko zna možda se pojave ili bude ih se moglo naručiti u nekom od dućana. Mada meni ASRock serija ploča izgeda nekak najprimamljivije - cijena bude (ko i dosad) sigurno pristupačna.
Promijenili su dizajn i layout na bolje i odmaknuli se od onog generičkog, a sve ploče su im doslovno krcate svim kaj novi 800 čipsetu omogućuju.

Misliš? Jesi kontaktirao Bencomp? Znam da su oni držali isključivo Foxconn ploče:) Čini se da AMD radi izvrstan posao u zadnje vrijeme!

AMD Phenom II X6 'Thuban' i Phenom II X4 'Zosma' AM3 procesori
 

A list of new Phenom II series processors were tabled in a company road map. The road map confirms AMD's naming scheme for the Phenom II X6 brand, and also sheds light on a new line of quad-core processors. In the second quarter of this year, AMD will introduce Phenom II X6 six-core models 1075T, 1055T, and 1035T. While the 1075T has a TDP of 125W, the 1055T comes in 125W and 95W variants (likely one following the other), and 1035T is the slowest model with 95W TDP. All Phenom II X6 models are based on the Thuban core (a desktop, socket AM3 implementation of the Istanbul die). Each of the six cores has 128 KB of L1, 512 KB L2 caches, and a 6 MB L3 cache is shared between all cores. The HyperTransport 3.0 interconnect operates at 4.8 GT/s.

The new line of quad-core processors here, is the Phenom II X4 900T series. The first member in this series is the Phenom II X4 960T. These processors are created using Thuban dies by disabling two cores. It helps AMD salvage its foundry produce with minor defects, and also target lower price points. The resulting die is codenamed "Zosma". Zosma in X4 960T has a TDP of 95W. Probably it has a lower clock speed than the "Deneb" Phenom II X4 965, but is placed in the same league, in terms of performance. One of its biggest "unintentional" unique selling points is that since it's based on a die that has six physical cores, some customers could get lucky by unlocking them to a six-core processor, at a much lower price-point. Even as several motherboard manufacturers have innovated ways to unlock disabled cores, and are advertising their unlocking features, it is not guaranteed that a Zosma would unlock into Thuban, just as Callisto/Heka to Deneb unlocking doesn't always work out. Going by AMD's road map, these processors will be released some time in May.

Ovako vidim da ce Phenom II X4 900T imati podrsku za am2+/am3 maticne pa me zanima da li ce se moci normalno otkljucavati na starijim maticnima s sb710 i sb750 ili ce to biti rezervirano za 890GX/FX ploce?

Ako se bude uopće dalo kaj otključati, onda bude to moguće na svim pločama koje nude ACC, UCC ili jumpere i prekidače za iste funkcije u BIOS-u.

Otkriveni radni taktovi nadolazećih Phenom II X6 procesora
 

Just over a month from now AMD will introduce its own desktop-oriented hexa-core processors (codename) Thuban, the first release wave being set to include four chips - the Phenom II X6 1035T, 1055T (in 95W and 125W TDP versions), and the 1075T. The upcoming CPUs have been pretty much confirmed to have 9MB of L3 cache and an integrated DDR3 memory controller, and to be manufactured on 45nm technology but their frequencies have not been revealed, until today.

Courtesy of a couple BIOS updates released by Gigabyte (and leaked CPU support lists), we now know that the X6 1035T will have its six cores set to 2.6 GHz, while the X6 1055T will be set at 2.8 GHz. Expanding on the info available it's clear that the highest-end hexa-core prepped by AMD for next month, the Phenom II X6 1075T will be clocked at 3.0 GHz, 333 MHz under Intel's own Core i7 980X EE. Don't expect AMD's chips to take on Intel's EE models but they should give the LGA 1156 Core i7s a run for their money. Now all we need is the prices.

Koliko cujem suska se sa brojkom od 300$ za X6 1035T ...

Treba samo docekati prve usporedne testove ... ukoliko budu u rangu soc 1156 i7 proceva, buducnost Thubana i pogotovo Zosme je vrlo svijetla (zbog skrivenog 6-core potencijala).

Gigabyte polako izdaje BIOS-e za AM3 i AM2(+) ploče, koji donose podršku za Phenom II X6 procesore.
Danas su izbacili beta BIOS za moju 770 UD3 koji joj donosi podršku za X6 pa slobodno pogledajte za svoje ploče da li postoji takav BIOS.

Lijepe vijesti, nadam se da će i DFI sa ovom mojom LAN PARTY DK 790FXB-M2RSH nešto poduzet.
Iako nemam neke nade - zadnji BIOS im je od lani u 8. mjesecu, nadam se da neću morat sad opet prodavat i fakin matičnu i procesor i memoriju.:(

Ma DFI je posta gadljiv, od firme koja je korisnicima ugađala do neba, do danas, kad su 3 mjeseca prije svih ukinuli ACC pa su se njihovi korisnici morali jebavat sa modanim i beta biosima. AMD ih navodno pritisnuo, ma zamisli, a druge firme kao nije?! Kao Links su jebate, dok su bili mala firmica borili su se za svakog kupca, a danas se ponašaju kao Vemil nekad. Doduše meni ni iz džepa ni u džep, ove 4 jezgre su mi i više nego dovoljne, a za godinu, dvije kad budem mjenjao platformu, ova AM2+ će već bit toliko stara da mi bios za X6 ionako neće ništa značit:D

Hehe, neznam da li ste vidjeli, ali objavljenje su cijene za dva (inače četiri) šestojezgrena procesora od AMD-a, a među njima je i T1090 BE koji ide po cijeni za i7-930. Bit će ovo interesanta "bitka".

A gledaj, ako ne gubiš na performansama, a ploča radi, zašto je ne ostaviti? Meni je baš iznimno drago što je Gigabyte izdao BIOS za ovu moju posranu ploču na kojoj Phenomi II rade jednako brzo kao i na najskupljoj, najnovijoj 890GX ploči. Lijepo je imati najnovije i najsjajnije, ali baš poštujem AMD više nego Intel zato što mi je omogućeno da ovako jeftino (stvarno, za par stotina kuna) nadogradim i dobijem gro performansi zahvaljujući kompatibilnosti tehnologije.

AMD Working on Black Edition Phenom II X6 Part

AMD's lineup of six-core desktop processors under the Phenom II X6 banner indeed includes a high-end part. A Bahrain-based etailer disclosed prices of some of the models, which includes a Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. This chip operates at 3.20 GHz, with a TDP of 125W. Being a Black Edition part, it sports an unlocked BClk multipler that helps overclocking. AMD plans to sell this chip at US $295. The Phenom II X6 1055T is the other part with a price-tag. This 2.80 GHz chip also has its TDP at 125W, although we've lead to believe that AMD will release a 95W variant, too. The 1055T goes for US $199. Both chips are based on the "Thuban" core, which feature six cores on a monolithic die, with 9 MB of total chip cache (512 KB L2 per core, and 6 MB L3 shared).

Phenom II X6 Six-core Product Line-up

AMD's most high-end (and upcoming) six-core Thuban based processor will sell roughly 300 USD. AMD will launch an entire family of chips, including a pair of lower-clock versions, as well as a high-end model with frequencies to match the Gulftown. More recent rumors suggest that AMD's high-end offer, which will also have a great overclocking potential, will be the Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. This specific model will get a core clock of 3.2GHz and a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 125W. Lastly, the chip's cache memory will be of 9MB in total, 3MB L2 cache and the remaining 6MB making up the L3 cache memory. Since AMD wants the good media coverage they have pushed forward the 1090T and pushed back the 1075T to Q3 this tear. We compiled all data in a nice and easy to understand table go check it out:

Znači taman se za rođendan počastim jednim X6 i novom pločom. Gledam, pa i nema baš nešto ploča sa novim chipsetom kod nas, cca. 2 modela.
Kada se očekuje navala novih ploča, nakon izlaska procesora?

Gledam ovaj Thuban sa 6 jezgri ispod 200$, bit će to dobra kupnja. Jedino se postavlja pitanje kome sve to treba kad se još ni četverojezgraši ne iskoriste kak spada?

A vidim da poput Nehalema stavljaju C-state turbo mode.

Phenom II X6 1035T Cinebench10 rezultati
 

AMD’s Phenom II X6 processors will be launched on Apr 26th/27th (depending on your location). On hand, we have some information of one of the processor, Phenom II X6 1035T. The Phenom II X6 1035T processor is based on the Thuban 45nm core. It has a core voltage of 1.2v. From the CPU-Z screen shot, we can see that it supports 6 x 64 KB of L1 Data, 6 x 64 KB of L1 Instruction, 6 x 512K L2 cache and 6MB of L3 cache. It clocks at 200MHz with multiplier of 13x, processor is clocked at 2.6GHz. It scores 11962 in Cinebench10 in multi core scores, almost 1.46x faster than a Phenom II X3 710 processor (Cinebench score is 8184) clocked at 200×13.

Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 ploča
 

Gigabyte is looking to share some of its latest innovations in motherboard design with its AMD platform lineup, with a new enthusiast-grade motherboard in the works that rivals up with some of the company's highest-end products from its Intel platform lineup. The GA-890FXA-UD7 is the newest in the league. The model stays above the recently revealed GA-890FXA-UD5. It is a socket AM3 motherboard geared up for AMD's newest six-core processors, based on AMD 890FX + SB850 chipset. It has six PCI-Express slots (electrical: x16/x8, x4, x8, x4, x16/x8, x8), and supports 4-way ATI CrossFireX. The CPU is powered by a 10-phase VRM, with 2-phase memory VRM.

For the first time on the AMD platform, Gigabyte uses its Hybrid Silent-Pipe cooler. The cooler connects the CPU VRM, 890FX northbridge, and SB850 southbridge using a heatpipe, and the heatsink over the northbridge has provision for a water-block (included), or a large and complex aluminum heatsink that fits into the top expansion slot. The SB850 natively supports six SATA 6 Gb/s ports complete with RAID 0,1,5,10 support. An additional GSATA2 controller gives out two SATA 3 Gb/s ports and the IDE connector. Connectivity includes 8+2 channel HD audio with optical and coaxial SPDIF connectors, two gigabit Ethernet controllers, two USB 3.0 ports, a number of USB 2.0 ports, and FireWire. It is expected to be out in a month.
