According to Valve insider Tyler McVicker, Half-Life 3 is finally playable from start to finish and could be announced this summer, with a release as soon as winter 2025. Engadget reports: Besides McVicker's hours-long livestream, there have been other recent hints about Valve's progress on its highly anticipated title. In March, Valve concept artist Evgeniy Evstratiy claimed that he was in the room where Valve made Half-Life 3 on CG Voices Podcast. In the same month, another Valve leaker, Gabe Follower, claimed that Half-Life 3 would be the "end of Gordon's adventure," potentially signaling a non-cliffhanger ending to one of gaming's best franchises. Outside of these rumors, internet sleuths discovered code referencing HLX, which is widely thought to be the codename for Half-Life 3, in major updates to Deadlock and Dota 2.

Shift Up has released a free demo version of Stellar Blade on PC, allowing gamers to play a portion of the game on Steam ahead of the game’s full PC launch on June 11th. Players of this demo will be able to carry their save data to Stellar Blade’s Steam version when it launches. Sony has also released official PC system requirements for Stellar Blade’s PC version. All of these system requirement levels target average framerates of 60 FPS, which is great news for PC gamers. At low settings, even GPUs like AMD’s RX 580 and nVidia’s GTX 1060 can achieve 60 FPS framerates. Not bad for graphics cards that are now considered ancient. That said, 4K 60 FPS performance does require relatively high-end hardware, like AMD’s RX 7900 XT or nVidia’s RTX 3080.

Lossless Scaling's frame generation lands on Linux, works on Steam Deck:frend:

The popular third-party upscaling tool, Lossless Scaling, previously exclusive to Windows, has been ported to Linux with the release of the open-source lsfg-vk project. Developed by PancakeTAS, lsfg-vk utilizes Vulkan and the DXVK translation layer to bring the frame generation feature of the paid Windows application to Linux desktops and handheld devices, such as the Steam Deck. Until now, Linux gamers relied on FidelityFX Super Resolution frame generation only in titles where it was natively available. The lsfg‑vk promises to extend artificial intermediate frames to nearly any game. Rather than depend on in‑game integration, lsfg‑vk intercepts DirectX 11 calls and reimplements the Lossless Scaling pipeline on top of Vulkan.

Rather than directly porting DX11 to Vulkan, the developer used DXVK to present a DX11 interface on Linux and hooked every shader load, allowing a bit-for-bit comparison between the original DXBC shaders and their SPIR-V counterparts. With shader fidelity verified, a combination of IDA‑based static analysis, custom C++ utilities to log DX11 commands, and careful file‑by‑file comparisons in WinMerge enabled reconstruction of the entire rendering pipeline on Linux. Finally, RenderDoc traces of Vulkan calls guided the implementation of a native Vulkan pipeline, complete with the required synchronization primitives. Additionally, automation scripts and a statically linked subset of DXVK allow users to install the project and enable frame generation simply by setting a single environment variable.

Installation remains somewhat complicated. Users must own the Steam version of Lossless Scaling and install a compatible legacy build alongside Vulkan drivers, DXVK, and several helper utilities. After cloning the lsfg‑vk repository and following the setup instructions on GitHub, frame generation can be enabled by adding ENABLE_LSFG=1 %command% to a game's launch options. Early adopters have seen success in a range of Steam titles, though results vary and occasional manual adjustments may be required.

The September 9 Steam client update is one of the largest in recent memory. It introduces dozens of bug fixes and several new features meant to improve the user interface, controller inputs, and performance monitoring. One notable addition is CPU temperature monitoring – but enabling it requires users to decide whether they trust Valve with access to the Windows kernel.
When Valve debuted Steam's in-game performance monitor in July, the company warned that supporting CPU temperature tracking would require kernel-level privileges. With this update, users now have the option to enable or skip that feature.

Imam molbu, za koju iskreno vjerujem da ne krši nikakva pravila foruma.

Ako mi netko može zipati i poslati (preko fileshare servisa) "Steamworks Common Redistributables", odnosno "_CommonRedist" folder.

Riječ je o 164Mb podataka, DirectX i raznim Visual C++ instalacijama koje Steam iz nekog razloga MORA imati (čak i ako su već instalirane, kao u mojem slučaju) ali isto tako iz nekog razloga ne želi ... ili ne može dovršiti download i uporno ponavlja da imam "Corrupt Download", odnosno da tražene datoteke nisu dostupne.

Igre kao što su recimo Black Mesa, Portal 2, The Stanley Parable i druge, sve provjeravaju da li je "_CommonRedist" instaliran, i ako nije ne žele se pokrenuti.

Zanimljivo, meni je jasno rekao da je 164Mb velika instalacija, i onda uredno (i baš svaki put) zapeo na 42.8Mb download-a.

Mislim da je poanta da veličina i sadržaj tog direktorija ovisi o instaliranim igrama. Nekada je svaka igra imala svoj a sada bi ih sve instalirane igre trebale dijeliti. Možda da probaš na predmetnoj igri napraviti integrity check?

U pravu si, išao sam uspoređivati i shvatio da mi Framework instalacije (kao i neke od Visual C++ verzija) nisu potrebne. A kad ih izbrišem dobijem onih 164Mb o kojima sam pričao.

Ne, igre kao igre nisu problem. Sve uredno prolaze integrity check, problem je baš i isključivo u Common Redist. Ponavljam, tehnički mi nije ni potreban - imao sam situacije gdje se Steam "zbunio" i pokrenuo igru bez da je izbacio grešku, iako integrity check od samog Common Redist. kao "alata", zasebne instalacije ne prolazi i javlja istu grešku kao i kod instalacije. Da su datoteke koruptirane, da je greška na serveru, itd, itd.

Malo komplicira situaciju što imam Win7 i na njemu "forsiram" Steam. Da, znam što mi neki od vas budu rekli, ali od Sedmice ne odustajem. Windows 7 zauvijek! Iskreno, ostao bih na WinXP da sam mogao dobiti stabilnu 64bit verziju, ali većina XP je nažalost bila x86, pa mi kao takva ne koristi. Ali Sedam zato imam u 64bit verziji, sa jednim jedinim SP1 i svim updateovima.

I mislim da je upravo u tome i problem - očito neka nekompatibilnost u pitanju jer je Steam blokirao podršku za Win7 još prije godinu i pol, i praktički da ga je nemoguće instalirati na bilo što osim Win10 i novijeg. Ali zato download samih igara radi bez ikakvih problema, kao i sinkronizacija sa Steam serverom, achievementi i save game-ovi - sve funkcionalno, barem za sada.

Bilo je pomalo neočekivanih problema, ali nakon re-instalacije Steama, kopiranja koleginih redistribucijskih paketa u Steamapps\Common\SteamWorks Shared folder sve je prošlo bez problema, i Steam je prihvatio kolegine podatke kao svoje, bez potrebe za downloadiranjem dodatnih resursa.

Moram priznati da sam u iskušenju probati sa re-instalacijom Redist instalacije ... čisto da vidim može li sad proći bez bacanja grešaka ali obzirom da sam ga NAPOKON dobio da radi, ne želim isprobavati sreću :D

Bilo kako bilo, puno hvala kolegi @Blue Spirit bez kojeg ovo ne bi bilo moguće :chears:

Ako imaš averziju prema desetki, predlažem ti da se prebaciš na neku razumnu linux distribuciju (predlažem MX Linux). Steam tamo rado odlično i većina igara radi dobro. Windows 7 je dugi niz godina mrtav. Ja sam slično napravio, nakon sedmice krenuo na linux, s time da je to bilo pred kakvih 6 godina.

Meh, možda jednog dana... Za sad (kao što možeš i sam vidjeti) sve radi bez greške :goood:

Averziju zapravo imam prema svim ovim novim cloud/online glupostima koje danas serviraju, uzdam se isključivo u fizičku pohranu podataka i fizičke medije. Ništa virtualno ili streamano, čak i glazbu slušam na gramofonu i trakama, a filmove gledam na VHSu ili eventualno DVDu. Ali to je rasprava za neku drugu temu i priliku.
