Dobar je taj X3 :)

Malo me čudi loš overclock rezultat s X4 810.

  • Athlon X4 615 - > 2.7 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, Propus, Socket AM3, April 2009;
  • Athlon X4 605 - > 2.5 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, Propus, Socket AM3, April 2009
EDIT:
Na Anandtechu su dobili 3.7 GHz s X4 810
Anandtech Phenom II X4 810 & X3 720 review

Cele303 09.02.2009. 12:53

:stoopid:

Citiraj:

We start off with the AMD Phenom II X4 810. This is a the regular version, not a BE (Black edition). Immediately we get restricted as the clock multiplier and voltages are now locked. The minute you will startup AMD Overdrive, you'll stumble into these limitation
Ako i jesu u OverDriveu, u BIOS-u sigurno nisu...

Cele303 09.02.2009. 13:37

AMD puts on the ritz with six-core Opteron demo

Phenom II 955 X4, te 550 i 545 X2 AM3 procesori

The first of the three new chips will be the Phenom II X4 955 processor with a clock frequency of 3.2GHz. Certainly, 3.2GHz is nothing to scoff at -- with the release of this new Phenom II X4, the Intel/AMD quad core price-war is going to be elevated yet another little step. The socket AM3 Phenom II X4 955 will have 8MB cache, and will support DDR3-1333. The next parts are dual-core Phenom IIs. AMD is prepping 3.0GHz Phenom II X2 545 and 3.1GHz Phenom II X2 550 processors for launch in mid-May. Both chips will be based on Callisto, which is supposedly the quad-core Deneb die with two cores disabled. So while they are 'only' dual cores, they will benefit from having a good 6MB shared L3 cache, and 512KB of L2 cache for each core. You can expect that these two new dual-core Phenom IIs will be very reasonably priced, as Intel has a slew of high-performing, budget dual-core Core 2 Duo parts on the market. Maybe, with a great deal of luck, some of the cores on these dual-core X2 parts might be able to be unlocked with the right motherboard, like some of the recent X3 chips.

Triple i Quad-Core Athlon II serija, te detalji oko dvojezgrenih Phenom II modela

Advanced Micro Devices has decided to delay affordable quad-core and triple-core microprocessors made using 45nm process technology that it plans to sell under Athlon II brand and the chips will not be available before August-September. Still, the new breed of dual-core Athlon II X2 microprocessors is due in June timeframe during Computex trade-show. Earlier AMD planned to release its code-named Propus and Rana microprocessors in April, whereas the dual-core Regor was scheduled for June launch. However, the latest plans of Advanced Micro Devices seen by X-bit labs indicate that the world’s second largest maker of x86 microprocessors will only release Propus and Rana in August-September timeframe, more or less inline with the company’s new mainstream desktop platform code-named Pisces.

AMD Athlon II X4 600-series (Propus) is a quad-core processor with dual-channel DDR2/DDR3 memory controller (depending on platform) and 2MB L2 cache (512KB per core), Athlon II X3 400-series (Rana) is a triple-core central processing unit with DDR2/DDR3 memory controller (depending on platform) and with 1.5MB L2 cache, whereas AMD Athlon II X2 200-series (Regor) is a dual-core processor with 1MB L2 cache per core and DDR2/DDR3 support, depending on the platform. It is interesting to note that besides dual-core Regor processor, AMD will also release dual-core Callisto chip in June. Apparently, Callisto will be the long-awaited dual-core AMD Phenom II X2 chip with shared L3 cache and also made using 45nm process technology.

Detalji oko nadolazeće AMD K11 (Bulldozer, Fusion i Bobcat) arhitekture

It is never boring in the world of CPUs. Regardless of who's on top, plans for next generations tend to excite everybody in the eco-system… if you deliver, that is. The Ex-Alpha engineering teams lead by Dirk Meyer that created K7 and K8 architecture messed everything up with Barcelona/Agena and the infamous TLB-bug (Translation-Lookaside Buffer). Shanghai/Deneb cleaned a lot of things up and AMD is back being competitive again, but Intel is pushing hard: Intel is operating in tick-tock architectural mode, and so far - AMD isn't able to answer back. K10 and K10.5 were nothing else but improvements over the K8 architecture.

AMD's Kryptonite versus Intel's Tick-Tock or are things really as they seem?
Looking at public and leaked roadmaps, it looks like AMD's K11, or Bulldozer core is shaping up to be what Core architecture was for Intel. AMD went to the drawing board back in 2005, and started to work on "K11" architecture. Up to today, AMD only delivered three "ticks" and seven "tocks" architectures, with the latest one breaking the tradition: K5 was launched in 1996, K7 followed up three years later. K8 was an evolution planned to debut in late 2001, but numerous (manufacturing-related) delays postponed the part until April 2003. If the current schedule sticks to K8 and K11, we'll have to wait for eight years between the two. At the same time, even though Intel likes to ponder the "Tick-Tock" architecture, the reality is such that even the Nehalem architecture is remotely based on the Pentium Pro core, and if we look through the "P6" architecture, we see that Intel has delivered five genuinely new architectures as ticks, and a gazillion tocks.

M-SPACE or how Fusion came to be…
Bulldozer architecture is actually a consequence of the failed tie-up between AMD and nVidia. Back in 2005, AMD felt that it had Intel by that certain part of male body (direct quote from an unnamed exec) and wanted to merge with nVidia. That fell through because Jen-Hsun Huang wanted the CEO position, and the rest is history; AMD already borrowed money to buy nVidia and had no choice but to seal the deal with ATi Technologies. The key reason for the birth of the Bulldozer architecture is M-SPACE design (Modular-Scalable Portable Accessible Compatible Efficient), GPU-resembling a "LEGO block" architectural concept that became a mantra in AMD's halls. Under the M-SPACE design guidelines, Bulldozer (10-100W TDP) and Bobcat (1-10W) cores were supposed to address different market segments, but the way of creating a processor was exactly the same. The goal was to have Bobcat addressing the OLPC/netbook/MID market, then considered as a crazy vision by Nicholas Negroponte - can anyone today say "Nicholas was crazy"? Bulldozer was the "big daddy" core, going head to head against then Pentiums and Xeons. Unfortunately for AMD, Intel got there first (Core 2, Atom).

In order to understand M-SPACE, we need to take a look into graphics chips; a GPU manufacturer will release a high-end part and then decrease the number of logic units depending on targeted die-size (cost). AMD saw M-SPACE as the way to leverage its biggest disadvantage: lack of available die space. A lot of things have changed since then, AMD spun off its foundry operations to GlobalFoundries and with ATI's upcoming 32nm GPUs coming from ex-Fab38 (Fab 1, Module 2) GlobalFoundries facility in Dresden. One of the key components for M-SPACE are the future CPU Sockets - Servers will get G34 as a part of the Maranello platform (LGA) - but consumer platforms won't stay on Socket AM3 either. AMD has plans to introduce G Sockets across the board, since they will be a necessity for a new memory controller, Display connectors, PCI Express 3.0 etc. Socket AM3 and its 940 pins just won't cut the mustard, but 2000+ lines on Landing Grid Array might do. This also means that pins are waving goodbye from mainstream consumer platforms - AMD will introduce LGA on desktops and start to push BGA (Ball Grid Array) on notebook platforms.

CPU becomes APU
The Bulldozer core will be implemented across the range: Server, Desktop, Notebook, launching as server first, followed by desktop and notebook. Server-wise, AMD plans to introduce three parts: single die quad-core & octal-core for the launch, with dual-die hex-core (16 Cores) to follow later. Quad-core and Octal-core are succeeding Sao Paolo (Istanbul on Socket G34), while Magny-Cours (12-core dual-die on Socket G34) will be succeeded by Montreal, a 16-core dual-die part. We heard about the "Montreal" codename back in 2006, so it might have changed by now. All of these parts sit on the Maranello platform, which will be introduced early next year.

When it comes to the world of desktops, Bulldozer arrives as two parts: Orochi and Llano. Orochi is the first M-SPACE design to feature both as Opteron and Phenom, featuring four Bulldozer cores and 8MB of cache. Llano is the new key processor for AMD's commercial desktop and notebook efforts. Dubbed Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), this combination of quad-core processor and ATi's DX11 core (both manufactured in 32nm - CPU die is SOI, GPU die is bulk). When looking at Ontario's specs, it is clear that this Falcon's dead-ringer (Kuma+ATI core) is all that Falcon was supposed to be: dual-core CPU packed with DirectX 11 based core using BGA packaging, targeting ultra-portable and netbook markets.

If we look at thr specs, it is beyond any doubt that this architecture is another "hammer", but is a hammer for Intel's line-up of today. Intel will launch 32nm Westmere in 2010, and have roughly 11 month advantage over AMD in terms of manufacturing process. To make the matters worse, Sandy Bridge is Intel's new architecture en route 2011, and there is a big question looming above heads at AMD: what will the state of the market be once that Bulldozer finally launches? 2011 is not too late for a Fusion "APU", though. Even though Intel will launch its 32nm Arandale processor in Q1'10, performance and compatibility of integrated graphics is a far cry from usability standpoint. Intel's integrated graphics currently does little more than output picture on the display, and DX11-compliant, OpenCL-compliant, decent low-res gaming performer will cause serious headaches for Intel. Once Intel integrates those features into Larrabee and Sandy Bridge, then we will be able to speak about problems for AMD. For us, it looks like AMD is on a path of innovation. But when AMD will stop being "late to the party"?

Jetway XBLUE-77A3 i XBLUE-78GA3 AM2(+)/AM3 combo ploče

Jetway has launched two new models for AMD's Phenom platform and it has stuck to two things, full backward compatibility and the color blue. Jetway XBLUE-77A3 and Jetway XBLUE-78GA3 both use blue colors throughout the design, which do make the board stand out. Another thing making Jetway's two AMD motherboards unique is that they support both Socket AM2/AM2+ and AM3 with both DDR2 and DDR3 memory slots.
http://www.pohrani.com/t/2B/Q0/2XmT6g63/image3.jpg http://www.pohrani.com/t/3J/Dn/316XY0mK/image4.jpg
Jetway has launched combo boards in the past and with a focus on the entry market these pose as potential upgrade alternatives for those who are looking to try out AMD's new platform without having to upgrade the entire system. The difference between the two XBlue motherboards is that XBLUE-78GA3 use the AMD 770 chipset and does not have an integrated graphics circuit, while XBLUE-77A3 and the AMD 780G chipset does. Both motherboards use the AMD SB700 southbridge and supports DDR2-1066 and DDR3-1333 memory, two memory slots each. Price and availability are yet to be announced.

AMD demonstrirao prvi 12-core Opteron procesor (Magny-Cours).

Athlon 7850 X2 Black Edition AM2+ procesor

While I feel that the world should just move on towards quad-core processors myself, I also am faced with the reality that of course not everyone can afford them. And the one thing that we keep forgetting is that real value is still to be found in dual-core processors. The reality is that with normal everyday usage and gaming, a dual-core processor is really all you need. So AMD figured, what if you take a last generation Phenom X4 processor, shop it in half and release it? That is the what the Kuma architecture really is. AMD developed a new dual-core processor based on B3 revision/stepping, under codename Kuma. The Athlon X2 7850 CPU has a respective clock speed 2.8GHz, a processor with 3MB of total cache, 512KB of the L2 variety per core and 2MB of shared L3 cache per chip.
http://72.52.144.107/~w3dizajn/pce/i...7d86_thumb.png http://72.52.144.107/~w3dizajn/pce/i...t72v_thumb.png
The Athlon X2 Series 7000 processors have a TDP (peak wattage) of 95W. Now that's by itself interesting as it's the same as the mid-range specced Phenom X3 and X4 processors. Now we should have two active & independent cores here, but I'm 99.99% certain that two other cores are to be found in there yet are disabled. This explains the transistor count and TDP. The performance of the 7850 Black Edition is unsurprisingly underwhelming compared to the 7750 Black Edition we looked at just four months ago. For a 100MHz speed bump, it offers no additional overclocking headroom because it's still the same 65nm B3 core, and so the limitations are still there.

Možda u međuvremenu nikne:) kakva točnija informacija, ovak ostaje samo čekanje.

segregator 05.05.2009. 09:03

byGuru3d

http://www.imagesforme.com/out.php/i492562_ch3.jpeg

'It took ASUS a while but they finally see the strength of the AMD platform and have been designing a kickass motherboard for it, meet the ASUS Crosshair III Formula.

ASUS always uses Crosshair for their more high-end AMD motherboards based on nForce chipsets, this time though, it'll be the magnificent AMD 790FX chipset together with the SB750 Southbridge chip, of course ACC is the key thing here, Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) .

The board will have an 8+2 phase circuit and is Socket AM3 based, meaning a DDR3 motherboard.

You'll spot two PCI-Express x16 slots. What's cool is that the board is that the boards includes a ROG LCD-poster, and the famous iROG overclocking management system. '

Phenom II X3 i X4 Energy Efficient procesori

AMD may have anticipated its launch of the energy efficient Phenom II and Athlon II processors by a week or so. On the shallower end of the price pool you've got the Athlon II X2 (Regor) 250, running at a zippy 3GHz, equipped with 512KB of L2 cache per core and 1MB of L3. The packaging is AM3, in case you're wondering, and we hope that means a DDR3-capable memory controller for upgradability. Power is 65W TDP. The Athlon II is followed closely by the Phenom II X2 (Callisto), and before you scream "pointless", we have to point out that these sport the same 6MB cache present on the Denebs, while keeping with a slightly lower TDP of 80w. These are numbered the 550 and 545, clocked at 3.1GHz and 3GHz respectively. Budget for an extra €10 to €15 over the Athlon II.

Next come the energy efficient processors, four in all: Phenom II X3 700e, X3 705e, X4 900e and X4 905e. Speeds are 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz respectively, and they all share 65W TDP. This should make them great for businesses and even overclockers due to the favourable C2-stepping silicon. The 700e and 900e are sold solely as OEM parts for integrators, so you shouldn't be able to find them right away at your retailer, but the 705e and 905e are on pre-order here in €uroland for €118 and €180 respectively.

Phenom II 550 X2 i Athlon II 250 X2 testirani

Our lab managed to get hold of two very interesting dual-core solutions from AMD manufactured with 45nm process. These processors will be positioned as primary competitors to Intel Core 2 Duo and looks like they have very good chance to succeed. As we have already reported in our news, AMD will be releasing new dual-core CPUs based on the cores made with the latest 45nm process. In other words, the Deneb core that has received a lot of great feedback will arrive in a new incarnation giving birth to new highly promising processor families known as Callisto and Regor. Due to more than affordable price of only around $100, these CPUs will finally become the long awaited worthy rivals to Intel Core 2 Duo.
http://www.pohrani.com/t/U/6P/4VWLvEA6/amd-01.jpg http://www.pohrani.com/t/3N/MX/3TFgbKig/amd-02.jpg
The major difference between Phenom II X2 and Athlon II X2 is evidently in the configuration of their cache-memory system. Phenom II X2 has a 6MB L3 cache typical of most Phenom II processors. Athlon II X2 has no L3 cache, but instead – what a surprise! - boasts twice as large L2 cache. The modular structure of the Deneb core has definitely worked very well for AMD here. It allowed AMD engineers to combine the L2 cache memory of the two working processor cores with the L2 cache memory of the disabled cores.
http://www.pohrani.com/t/3l/tY/3EgsMfD9/amd-03.jpg
While dual-core CPUs on 65nm cores could only compete against Intel Pentium solutions, the new Athlon II X2 and Phenom II X2 attempt much more than that. Athlon II X2 250 overclocked to 3.9GHz with the Vcore increased by 0.175V above the nominal and remained absolutely stable throughout the tests. The results of our Phenom II X2 550 overclocking experiments confirm this assumption as well. This processor remained stable at 3.98GHz frequency with the core voltage increased by 0.15V.

"SB850 is AMD's latest, greatest Southbridge and this chiplooks like a big improvement compared to SB750. The new Southbridge brings A-link with X4 Gen 2, PCIe 4x1Gen 2 as well as 14+2 USB 2.0 ports. The previous SB750 only had 12+2, whichshould be enough, but hey more is usually better. SATA gets upgraded to 6x 6Gb/swhich is another name for SATA 3.0 and of course RAID 0,1,5 and 10 support ishere. It also has integrated clock generation and Gigabit MAC. The new Southbridge comes in new FCBGA 605 pin package andits TDP is 4.0 W. AMD SB750 has TDP of 4.5 watts and less features. SB850should launch in Q4 together with RD890. "

IF YOU KNOW where to look, the new ATI 8xx series chipset can be found at Computex. The trick, look to the servers.

Tyan S8212

This is the next generation ATI part

In the Tyan booth, there were a bunch of new servers, but tucked away in a corner there were a few boards that had an interesting line on the name tag. It said, "AMD SR5890 + SP5100 chipset", that is the name of the RS890 when you put it on a server board.

The board is called the S8212, and it has two sockets. As you can see, there are 16 DIMM slots, 1 16x PCIe, 3 8x PCIe, and a few older slots as well. It has the usual 6 SATA ports, 2 ethernet, and a VGA out that doesn't stink.

This part will not only bring the server world into rezes higher than 1024*768 (YAY!!!!), but also adds some very nifty features like an IOMMU. If you have been wanting to virtualize your NICs and RAID controllers, this is the one chipset that can do it for you. It will be out later this summer.

Phenom II X4 energy efficient procesori

Citiraj:

AMD has silently launched Phenom II X4 905e and this CPU is the first 45nm Deneb quad-core to fit the 65W TDP envelope. When it comes to specification it works at 2.5GHz and has 4x512KB cache, 6MB L3 shared cache and an integrated DDR3 / DDR2 memory controller.

The CPU is available and selling now for €165 or a bit more which is a great price for a quad core that doesn’t have such a high TDP. This will definitely be a favourite pet for people who would like a quad-core and they are not big fans of 125 or 95W TDP. You can buy one of these CPUs here.
Izvor: Fudzilla

"AMD CPU compare" daje sljedeće rezultate za Phenom II X4 65W:

Moram priznati da bi mi odlično legao bilo koji od ova dva procesora, cijena od 165€ je odlična.
Dobije se procesor po clocku isti kao i stari 9850 BE, samo sa polovicom njegova TDPa. A množitelj od 12 ili 12.5 je sasvim dovoljan za "zabavu".

Phenom II 42 TWKR Black Edition

Wallace Santos, the Maingear founder and CEO has shown a very special AMD processor at his blog. As you see below, the AMD Phenom II Black Edition TWKR is packed by a black and decent box, and you can apparently see the CPU is maked “Not for Sale”. You know AMD Phenom II X4 lineup offers great overclocking ability, and this TWKR is supposed to overclock even beyond the capabilities of the Phenom II X4 955. The other specs such as clock, launch date and pricing are unmentioned, making this processor a really mysterious part.

Like all of the latest microprocessors for enthusiasts, AMD Phenom II TWKR Black Edition processors come with unlocked multiplier, which dramatically eases overclocking. But in addition to that, the new chips are supposed sustain never-before-seen thermal design power, about 200W, and should be cooled using liquid nitrogen, cascade, dry ice or other extreme methods. The reason? It is believed that the new TWKR processors will hit unbelievable clock-speeds and will provide leading performance in benchmarks.
