Zotac Readies New GTX 580 Extreme Edition Graphics Card with Strong VRM

Zotac is flexing its engineering muscle again. Known for several novelty high-end non-reference design graphics cards, Zotac's latest work is based on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, and revolves around backing the GPU and memory with a strong VRM. So complex is its VRM circuit, that it extends the PCB's height by a good one inch. The VRM consists of over 16 phases, making use of high-grade chokes, capacitors, POSCAPs, and prodalizers. Power is drawn in from 8-pin and 6-pin power connectors.

To cool the beast, there's a monolithic aluminum heatsink that runs through all corners of the PCB, cooling MOSFETs and memory chips. The GPU is cooled by a 2+ slot air cooler that makes use of two 120 mm fans blowing air onto a dense aluminum fin array. This cooler can be detached, and a universal water block for the GPU can be used without having to worry about cooling other components. Although the clock speeds aren't known, one can expect them to either be high, or moderately high leaving a large overclocking headroom. Zotac will brand this card "Zotac GTX 580 Extreme Edition".

Perverzno konstruirana hladnjača za ohladit VRM na ovoj zvjerki.

onda se od zotaca mora očekivat 1 gzh za gpu.

Čitam 1. stranicu ovog topica, i moram reći da je prava poslastica.

Toliko FAIL-anih prognoza, a moram priznati da mi je najsmješniji kolega forumaš McG koji je GTX 580 proglasio 'hoax-om'.

Virtualnom grafom koja je plasirana da bi se, je li, pokvario AMD-ov Cayman launch.

Kad ono gtx 580 izasao ranije od Caymana,
koji jadan muku muči sa Nvidijinim 2nd ešalonom u vidu GTX 570. lulz

Svejedno kartica nema na bacanje i zato nema ni rata cijenama. Nvidija jedva proda koju, a ati ima cijeli spektar od najslabijih, do malo starijih (5870) do novijih (6870-6970)..

Nvidija ne može spustiti cijenu (jer nema čime pokriti toliku prodaju) a atiju se ne isplati kad dominira tržištem.

No sa korisnikovog stajališta - da, gtx 5xx je super serija i u hrvatskoj sa trenutnim cijenama puno bolji izbor od 69xx serje.

Hmm...da. Nvidija nema bajnu dostupnost, a to se posebice pokazalo nakon Cayman launcha

pojasni malo što želiš reći?

Pa nakon Cayman launcha je doslo do OUT OF STOCK GTX 580 na Neweggu. Naručiš i moraš čekati na isporuku.

Kužim. Ono malo se razgrabilo. Neutralni (ne fanbojevi) su čekali kako će kajman ispasti, pa kad je ispao običan krezubi aligatorić su brže bolje kupili najbolju single gpu karticu...

EVGA je prva nestala, pa gigabyte, msi itd.

Ostalo nesto Galaxija, pa otisao i on, a PNY se zadnji rasprodao.

Takva situacija je bila i prije Caymana... Znam da je u HR bilo svega 5 kartica i da se nakon tjedan dana nakon sto su dosle u RH moralo narucivati i cekati 20-ak dana, a ni sada nije bolje stanje

Gainward navodno priprema najbrzu GTX 580 na trzistu.

covjece kako dugo nisam vidio golden sample karticu.. godinama.
on topic: tko danas kupi gtx580 ja garantiram da netreba nikakve amd-iće sljedecih 2 god.. znam po gtxu 280 kojeg imam od izlaska i dan danas je jedan mocni gpu isplativiji od bilo kakvog multigpu rjesenja.

ASUS Readies Another Monster: GeForce GTX 580 DirectCu II

After showing off a monstrous DirectCu II cooled Radeon HD 6970 at CES, ASUS released pictures of another card which probably couldn't make it to Vegas. The GeForce GTX 580 DirectCu II from ASUS is just as beastly as its Radeon cousin. It uses a completely in-house design, with custom PCB that uses a strong VRM; and a triple-slot cooler which uses copper heatpipes that make direct contact with the GPU. The PCB uses an 8-phase vGPU VRM, it draws power from two 8-pin power connectors. The power circuit is also completely localized, meaning that it draws absolutely zero power from the PCI-Express slot. The VRM makes use of high-grade components, including an NEC-made proadlizer to condition power for the GPU.

The DirectCu II cooler uses a large aluminum fin array to which heat is conveyed by five heatpipes that make direct contact with the GPU. Two 100 mm fans are in charge of ventilation. The rear panel consists of two DVI, and one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. The card is bound to have factory overclocked speeds, with room for more overclocking. The cooler, though large and with two fans, is tested by the company to be quieter than NVIDIA's reference design cooler. The GeForce GTX 580 is NVIDIA's flagship DirectX 11 GPU. It packs 512 CUDA cores, and connects to 1536 MB of memory over a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface.

ZOTAC's GeForce GTX 580 AMP! Edition does not bring many improvements to the table. The card is a complete implementation of NVIDIA's reference design with higher clocks. Its increased clock speed of 815 MHz, vs. 772 MHz on the reference design, can deliver a small performance improvement in our benchmarks - up around 3%. If you are willing to do some additional overclocking then you can expect a higher clock headroom on the AMP! Edition than on other reference design cards. According to ZOTAC, some special binning is performed at the factory where GPUs are picked that can handle the highest clocks. Compared to other reference designs, which max out at around 830 MHz, the 895 MHz on the AMP! Edition are a good improvement.
Whereas the GTX 480 AMP! Edition used a Zalman cooler, ZOTAC's GTX 580 AMP! comes only with the reference cooler. I talked to ZOTAC about the cooler and they mentioned that they were planning on using a different cooling solution but at the end it didn't work out for what were mostly political reasons beyond ZOTAC's influence.
Overall the GTX 580 AMP! Edition is a solid card but feels a bit too expensive with a $50 price premium over the normal clocked cards.

Gainward Readies GeForce GTX 580 Phantom 3 GB Graphics Card

Last month, Gainward introduced its GeForce GTX 570 Phantom, which won quite some appreciation among readers for its radical design. The company decided to extend it to the GeForce GTX 580, too, since it's based on the same GF110 silicon. The only major change is that 2 Gbit memory chips are used, yielding a total memory of 3072 MB (3 GB). The memory is spread across 12 2 Gbit memory chips across a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. Clock speeds stick to NVIDIA reference: 783/1566/4020 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory effective). The GTX 580 packs 512 CUDA cores.

The cooler makes use of a black aluminum fin array, to which heat is fed by six heat pipes. Instead of fans on its obverse side blowing air onto the PCB, there are three fans on its reverse side, drawing air from the aluminum fin array, and onto the PCB. The result is a better-looking product. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. Gainward will release its 3 GB GTX 580 Phantom graphics card soon, at a premium over the reference design.

GTX 580 od Asusa me podsjetila na jednu staru nvidiinu reklamu od valjda FX 5800 XT kada se likovi zafrkaju da se moze koristi za vise stvari pa tako kucanske poslove, kao fen, za ciscenje od lišća i slicno:lol2:

Dobar je ovaj Sparkle, šteta što nije tako raširen kod nas, s ovakvim dizajnom bi ga rado kupio :D

Baš me zanima koliko će modificirati hladnjak za ovu karticu u odnosu na ostale SOC modele GTX5xx serije.

Netko voli mercedes,netko ferrari a ja sam bas skroman jer volim gigabyte superoverclock...mislim malo se salim ali jednostavno ne razumim kako nasi prodavaci ne mogu prepoznat kvalitetu ovih kartica i dovesti ih vec jednom na svoje police.Blazen dan kad se to dogodi!
